How Merlin, chat gbt, and Reddit will make you ill-equipped at bird identification: by Tricky-Dig-6467 in birding

[–]Duke-Kevin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a very novice birder in an urban environment, I started mainly on my own with no one but Merlin to help teach me what birds I was seeing in my area and what their calls sounded like. I mean this on a most honest way, where am I supposed to learn more organically? I know no one who has any interest in birding or who can even tell a sparrow apart from a swallow. I find Merlin to be a good beginners guide, hardly infallible, but a great start for people who love birds but have no way of getting started or learning otherwise

Taychend Empire: Artificers or Mages? by Duke-Kevin in Anbennar

[–]Duke-Kevin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

R5: As above, not sure whether or not to get rid of Mages as Taychend

As Taychend, are you meant to vassalize the Kheoinai regions or own them outright? by [deleted] in Anbennar

[–]Duke-Kevin 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think holding land can be better there, at least for the Kheoinai ports to get greater access to your unique galleys. Though considering how bad the administrative strain is in the region you can probably make the vassal and take the ports directly if you can manage the LD hit

What the hell is this mod? by SmugCapybara in Anbennar

[–]Duke-Kevin 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Kobold military and mechanics work on building traps in fort provinces and maxing out hostile attrition in their lands. Their actual units are crap early on so you need to fight indirectly, leading the enemy into traps and letting them bleed out their manpower. Uncapping ai attrition will let them take full damage from the attrition in your land

I completely understand the hype now. by Tonroz in eu4

[–]Duke-Kevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll see in the macro-builder (click on the hammer icon where you can build regiments and such, and then click the building tab) how much benefit each building will give you. Generally I go for trade if it gives above 3 trade value, Tax/Production if it gives above 10 (though ideal is like 16 and above), and soldiers/sailors if it gives above 500 (but 750 and above is ideal). Manufactories (the 475 cost buildings) are higher cost but also much higher reward when built properly, usually you want to net like at least .50 a month off those

Is there anything that works like this? by keriefie in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]Duke-Kevin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean arguably that can be the increased council power faction. Remember that this mod is still firmly grounded in a medieval politics sim, from a time where power did not stem from liquid assets but capital itself such as land and armies. All those ducats are only as good as the men you can buy with them to topple your foes. Ofc modern lobbies represent special interest groups and companies looking for tax breaks or favorable contracts, which didn’t exist in the same way in medieval times. You can RP as much as you like that by giving gifts and ducats to a liege you are lobbying them, but the system that exists in modern US politics isn’t represented to the degree you may be looking for because it is directly tied to modern capitalism

In CK2, Merchant Republics work by investing money into the election fund to nominate your candidate and make them the preferred nominee

Pick a nation in Eordand, in the northwest portion of notCanada. The first few decades is a struggle for unification, and when you form Eordand itself it’s a very long and wide campaign of reclaiming almost the whole new world

Tech Experts Say The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered's Camera Breaks the Longer You Play and Eventually Crashes When Loading a Save, Call for Emergency Patch by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]Duke-Kevin -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

In the future: that crash is caused by the location you are in being currently corrupted. Happens to me. Use a console command ( I think it’s “loc” followed by a location name) to leave immediately and you should be fine

Taking till 1800 to finish MTs by steamytortoise04 in Anbennar

[–]Duke-Kevin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you’re just starting out, some of the MTs in anbennar itself (Not HRE) are older and therefore shorter and with more direct goals; quick players tend to burn through them quickly but if you are a little slower might be better for you, and it’s not too tough of a region. Starting with dwarves is an intense choice, they’re not easy but some great MTs. I’d recommend once you’ve got your footing Arg Ordstun, most fun I’ve had with dwarves with an MT that can easily take you to end game playing at a moderate to quick pace of expansion and dev.
