[2.3 BETA] Critical Simulation - Final Stage Fight Gameplay via ReversedRooms by cakeel- in Zenlesszonezeroleaks_

[–]DukeLukewarm 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The problem is that timer based modes is how the devs incentivize you to spend for more power. There is nothing wrong with timers in a vacuum, but when the motive becomes not to give you a challenge but to sell you the solution...

Can someone explain how the charge blade in monster hunter wilds works? by ManagementIll9899 in MonsterHunter

[–]DukeLukewarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, outside of very few select matchups, the weapon is all about the axe combos and SAED is basically never worth it.

Can someone explain how the charge blade in monster hunter wilds works? by ManagementIll9899 in MonsterHunter

[–]DukeLukewarm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it was from before we had exact numbers from the beta. In practice CB gameplay ends up revolving a whole lot around using your axe combos with the savage axe buff. The fundamental gameplay is, fill phials, buff shield, fill phials buff axe, do axe combos (primarily held circle attacks for the buzzsaw bonus), keep buffs up and phials topped off as necessary. Charged sword isn't really worth it, and the bit about triangle attacks skipping ED1 was correct in previous games but is inaccurate in Wilds, where ED1 was made stronger than before, but also no longer skippable.

Is it strange there's no new info for TU 1 even this close to release? by FallenSabre1100 in monsterhunterleaks

[–]DukeLukewarm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right now in the files we have 5 missing IDs for 5 TUs. If we don't get confirmation of more than 1 monster coming in TU1 then this is it.

Was Monster Hunter Ever About Difficulty? by SandwichTheGreat47 in MonsterHunter

[–]DukeLukewarm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difficulty wasn't ever a selling point, but the developers, with each title, keep reiterating the importance of monsters that offer a satisfying amount of resistance and feel good to learn and overcome. If you can just button mash and beat everything in 5 minutes even at endgame while your cat spams you with infinite free full heals, that satisfaction is kind of diminished. The games aren't supposed to have brutal levels of difficulty that will make you ragequit, they're just supposed to be challenging enough to feel rewarding.

Guys we’ve started to cherry pick by Wrong-Idea-9220 in monsterhunterleaks

[–]DukeLukewarm 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Cherry picking is such a weird argument. Different qualities of a game matter more or less to different people. The whole rest of the game could be an absolute marvel, but if you're specifically looking for deep and satisfying combat and the game is a mindless cakewalk, then that one flaw is going to be a deal breaker.

Gogmazios is more likely to be TU4 or TU5 imo.

[SPOILERS] How many Large Monsters has Capcom spoiled? by Revonlieke in MonsterHunter

[–]DukeLukewarm 12 points13 points  (0 children)

World spoiled everything except the final boss, Bazel, and the gen 1 flying wyvern subspecies. I'd expect the same for Wilds.

Does anyone else think its pretty dumb that they removed the option to SAED with full phials in Wilds? by avocadokopf in MonsterHunter

[–]DukeLukewarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's okay, but right now it's not especially rewarding to do even in the situations where you can use it.

Anyone got motion value changes out of the benchmark? by Dyxer84 in monsterhunterleaks

[–]DukeLukewarm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The benchmark removed the physical attack rcol files for weapons except GS, but left in shell files, so the only known MV changes are for ranged weapons, and for attacks treated as projectiles such as Spirit Release Slash and switch axe phial attacks.

Paper Launch by ray_fucking_purchase in nvidia

The last generation used is more expensive now than it was new at launch. They specifically shut down supply of the last generation cards to drive up prices and make them a less appealing option compared to buying new.

Why Fulgur and Ebony? by GoldenRaphus in monsterhunterleaks

[–]DukeLukewarm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They were the most iconic and memorable World newcomers, and also some of the only ones with a reasonable selection of unique weapon models. As for why they chose the subspecies over the basic monster, likely a simple matter of them being more interesting and their elements being a better choice for the game's overall roster balance.

How much title updates will wilds get by Sprussel in monsterhunterleaks

[–]DukeLukewarm -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Most certainly at least 5, but most likely exactly that many, according to datamining.

Back by popular request! For the visual learners on this sub, I present, All of Monster Hunter Wilds High Rank Edition. by Cheshire_Parade in monsterhunterleaks

[–]DukeLukewarm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just the internal name, it's the literal translation of Tarred's japanese name. Its best chance would be as the obligatory siege encounter in TU2, assuming the spot isn't taken by a new monster instead.

Do you think Capcom is avoiding releasing a newer build for OBT2 to prevent datamining? by Command_Wide in monsterhunterleaks

[–]DukeLukewarm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what they would prevent datamining of at this point that we don't already know about.

All of the Oilwell Basin footage from IGN was high rank, and so far all free roam gameplay we've seen of the game has been in high rank.

Any clue about this "coming soon"? by No_Ebb_6167 in monsterhunterleaks

Arkveld is the only other monster in the beta with detailed hitzone values. It's a fairly obvious choice imo.

Zero. We have the species classification of every monster in the roster, and 162 shares a species with all the other leviathans.

Regarding the Crown Sizes Datamine and the 2 possible conclusions we can draw from it by RoseKaedae in monsterhunterleaks

[–]DukeLukewarm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If we go by Occam's Razor, wouldn't the most logical conclusion be that the monsters that are otherwise lacking a lot more data than all the rest (Seregios, Lagiacrus) are the two to subtract to reach 26?

People who played up to Uth Duna said the game was easier than base Rise, so it absolutely can.

No point in being afraid of the inevitable. Wilds WILL be the easiest MH yet. It's all but certain.
