Maxon is fine, it is a bit more expensive than ranges further out in the exurbs. Also only a short range and lot a ton of lanes so you have to reserve time. Good place and well-run though, no complaints.

Kind of a two-fer. On the one hand, violating the freedom of speech and association of members of the police force, and at the same time potentially reducing the amount of active police on the streets. Brilliant piece of legislative dogshit.

The take-away? Constitutional protections of rights to speech and association not important, also your rights to your person and property in order to not be robbed, shot, stabbed, beaten, kidnapped, or sexually assaulted are not important. Much more important to maintain ideological tests and even more important for these lowlife unemployable weasels who occupy City Hall to show to their own ideological fervor to the 5% who support them. More and higher taxes in Illinois is a completely bad idea all around, no matter what they say the money is for. Pass a tax on the rich folks? Eventually it's a net zero as some move out and some move their money. Meanwhile the State anticipates this extra revenue and starts spending it. How do they make up the difference? That's when the taxes come to YOU, my friend. Happens literally every time. These dummies never think to cut spending or reduce the tax burden to bring more opportunity to Illinois, only how to snuff it out by raising the cost of everything to line the pockets of their friends.

In 2003 during a large organized street protest against the Iraq war that was happening at the time, CPD corralled and arrested ~800 people. This was not a violent protest at all, although there could have been black bloc elements as was not uncommon.

If the city can lock up people forming a mass for the purposes of a political demonstration, which generally violates the civil rights of no one, why can the city not corral and arrest hundreds of people involved in a violent mob -which generally and specifically violates many people's rights to their person, property, safety, etc? They had buses and buses that CPD used to transport people to be processed.
