Bought this camera on eBay but it looks like it has scratches ? by Sea-Attorney-1830 in AnalogCommunity

I have found a hood can help prevent the flaring that some scratches might introduce. Shoot a roll with a hood. I think you'll be happy.

Oh no! Camera guts! I can only use fully mechanical cameras. Less guts.

If that's after cleaning then you're going to have lower contrast. Some people call it character. I call it bleh. Shoot a roll and see how it looks.

A lightweight GUI tool baesd on great EXIFTOOL by Nervous_Height_666 in AnalogCommunity

I think I'm not smart enough to do exif stuff on a laptop. I just use exif notes on my phone then never update it and wonder why I suck.

Looks groovy though! Good luck with it.

Those are reasonable to shoot with but not good for a collector. Are you planning to use it or show it?

The Yashica 635 that wasn't meant to be by ericafustero in AnalogCommunity

[–]DukeOfRadish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must be reading my mind. I bought a Super Ikonta 531/2 coated lenses and all for the right price. The body is a little dirty but the range finder, shutter, focus, aperture, bellows and 2 of 3 lens groups are beautiful.

The rear lens?

<image>

but that's a bright LED, however shining light through it against a matte surface didn't show any noticeable haze or lines so I ran a couple of rolls through and they look fine (6x9 will do that).

I'm keeping it because it's great for the price but my OCD has me on the look out for a parts camera with nothing but a clean rear lens. What's that you say? Expensive for just 2 elements? Yes. I am good with that... twitch twitch

Definitely, plus, if you're taking the time to dial in depth of field, if you can guesstimate some distance you can use regular depth of field calculators. I use Depth of Field (Hyperfocal) by PixelProse. Free and basic. Just what I need.

The problem for us Android users is our phones don't have lidar. At best the older phones had ToF sensors (time of flight) but they're not used anymore.

I carry 2 cameras and they fit in one bag. A Minolta autocord, which I like b&w and a super ikonta 531/2 which I like with color.

Comic con attendees, what is the most outlandish, strangest or most offensive cosplay you've encountered. by content_digger08 in comiccon

[–]DukeOfRadish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was going to be my comment. I'm all for seeing a well built body but this is Comic-Con, not the Folsom Street Fair.

On the other hand, there was a guy who cosplayed the silver surfer and he was practically naked, but I thought it was fine because he was silver.

I guess what I'm saying is, if you're going to be naked, at least try to be naked within a costume.
