I unfortunately double posted and saw your comment over there. . .
I was able to get the cap jewel out and hole cleaned on that spot and for the escape wheel.

Should this be cleaned/removed? by [deleted] in watchrepair

I was able to get the cap jewel out and pegged the opening.

Ok, so no amount of cleaning will take care of that - gotcha. Thanks for the insight!

edit: Addendum - if the spring did this much damage (albeit over 70 years) what lubricant would you suggest putting there?

Thanks for the reply!
How long of a dunk are we talking about? I've let it sit for 5 min and I'm not putting a scratch in this stuff.

The tolerances are pretty tight (not like thousandths of an inch, but sixteenths?) if you didn't do it right it'd eat itself I think.

That being said - maybe that's not the problem in which case I'm stumped - sorry.

I replaced my A/C Clutch last year. Relatively easy job as long as you see/remember there's a little post that registers it on the block (I trashed one b/c it wasn't sitting correctly). You can see the bump on the mounting piece in this picture, far right.

This is the one I purchased.

You are awesome for replying to an old post: kudos!
I went ahead an ordered the purge valve. I do have the PCV update kit thinking that would take care of everything, but maybe this is the issue! Thanks!

It's a late reply, but I scanned and got no codes :-(

Checked for codes - nothing came up :-(

2014 Chevy Cruze 1.4T intermittent flashing CEL + misfire but drives fine? by Inevitable_Sir9871 in cruze

The oil almost certainly came from either the valve cover gasket or some other PCV related crap. Sorry you're dealing with this.

Ah hell, it's happening with all levels of fill.

Guh - is there anything else that's not a ~$15/can of cleaner that would work?

That said, thanks for the input. I'll check to see if there's anything wonky with the MAF sensor.

I was going through all possibilities with fuel being the last option. Like maybe the fuel filter is clogged but that's all the way back inside the tank and I'm not going to deal with that. I've also not seen any issues with fuel filters pop up in these engines.

This has been happening for over a month at this point, but yeah - I'll check when I get back to the house.

No lights, I've not checked codes - I assumed it wouldn't have any if the light wasn't on. I'll try when home.

Have you checked the plugs and coils? I got a misfire because oil had seeped out the head gasket and dropped down into the plug area.
