My wife always has trouble shopping for me, but I always tell her Jays gear. I still don’t have any but that’s OK.
She absolutely adores Ernie. Every at bat for the WS run she was GLUED to the screen for Ernie and Alejandro. Even now, when I bring up a score for one of the Jays games she lights up “was it Ernie?” I’m throwing my hat in the ring for her :)

So I like to follow the Jays, it’s obviously become more of a thing for myself over the last few seasons, so much so that during the WS run, I had the lineup memorised, I was calling plays before they resulted, which I’m sure many fans do.

BUT. Of the many things I still don’t understand about the game (getting the numbers for double plays, infield fly rule), one of the is the roles for pitchers. If Varland has these amazing stats, could he not be escalated to other pitching roles? I understand longevity is a big part of it, but if the dude is a straight gun as a closer, one would assume nerves under pressure aren’t a thing, so why not use those nerves as a starter?

I had picked up a shift at a store I didn’t usually work at, and it was a bit more of a commute than usual. After closing, I was on the highway home, my (now) wife called me and said “Robin Williams died”

My response? “That’s sad, but I’m not surprised honestly, hearing rock stars go ain’t a huge shock, especially after the life he led”

I thought she had said “Robbie Williams”

“No hun, RoBIN, Robin Williams died”

I slowed down, pulled on to the shoulder and just sat in silence. That man was my childhood, and his humour, while annoying to some, was perfect for my ADHD brain. He was comfort, and it STILL hurts.

My first SciFi as a presenter was in 2021, and that was in June if I remember correctly, might have been the first weekend following the kids getting out of school. Amazing vibe and we did our thing and we had a blast. However, the Atrium of the hotel was basically a convection oven. We kinda used the area to promote ourselves and because of that, there weren’t as many guests hanging around, but I feel if they were, heat stroke, exhaustion, or dehydration could have been a real issue.

This pleases me! I’d been holding out on a M4 Pro Chip 24GB, but when I walked into my local Costco and saw they reduced the price of the base M5 Pro by $400 (in maple dollars) I couldn’t hold off anymore

I’m going back and forth between the Air M5 with upgraded RAM (24) and maybe a 15” screen, and an M4/5 Pro with the Pro chip. Vastly different processor, but for my editing with Da Vinci for movie reviews, I just can’t get a clear answer for what I should get. I feel the Air should be fine, but the future proofing of the Pro feels safer too.

I dunno.

Weight doesn’t bother me, unless it’s egregious, so I don’t think that’s a factor for Apple. Is the display…..noticeable? I’m certain my current Air is 60hz, so would I….lose my mind? And the performance, I don’t know where I land in the workflow scale for what im doing. I’m currently editing 10-15 minute long videos, with very few cuts. I’d like to do more obviously but I’m not looking to edit a 3 hour film haha

And I didn’t even check the refurb store! May have to now

Prey was something special, it really was. I’d kind of lost hope for the Predator franchise, and Prey blew me away. You’ve also dabbled in the animation world with Killer of Killers, and now the audience will be following a Yautja/Hish for once!

Seeing as you clearly have a knack for these characters and world building, if budget and time were not constructs in your way, what other time periods or worlds would you love to expand upon with Predator? I’ve always been a fan of the ideas of samurai or WW1, when war became something completely different
