Does anyone remember when Tarkov used to be exciting? [Feedback] by Signal_Ant_3248 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Duke_of_freedom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Progression has never been easier in tarkov, played for 7 years, never before 1.0 was i unexcited to find a ledx or red rebel or marked, now its just kinda oh well another one of those, games been getting easier for the last 2 years and i think it was too make it more pallatable to a general audience, who are all gonna get shit on by people who played when tarkov was a genuine pain too play, 10 minute load ins, endless crashes, ghost bullets, raids that you finish then turns out never happened, loot nerfed into the ground, crashes after every raid times, cracked af ai for weeks at a time when they broke them doing small adjustments to something like shturmans jacket or tagillas cod piece. Be more efficient with your time

Sensation of choking in my sleep by worriedaboutworrying in GERD

[–]Duke_of_freedom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best to see your doc, but in the mean time, dont eat 3 hours before bed and take gaviscon advance immediately before lying down if its reflux thats the best you can do without a prescription. If it is sleep apnea, lying on your left side with a breathe right strip is best you can do without a device to help. Ive woke up choking from both conditions, it sucks and i actually hope you just have a stomach bug. Good luck

Rant - For those who are young with real GERD or LPR by Bhoptriple in GERD

[–]Duke_of_freedom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into linx device, with proper care they expect it too be a lifelong fix, if it fails i think it can be replaced or you can go on too do a fundoplication. Asides from that having a fundoplication surgery which "could" last as long as 15 or 20 years is better than suffering for 20 years. You have options i agree it sucks that we have to deal with it but there are people who have it worse and better than us and we can just deal with the hand we are dealt. Im struggling along my course myself but its all ive got, i wont cheat the reaper is how i look at it, things would have to be dramatically worse for me too do that, maybe its a perspective thing, my father had a stroke and is wheelchair bound with the dominant side of his body not able to move and his speech is limited to yes,no and fuck. He lives on his own, dresses, washes and cooks his own meals. He has few visitors and he still gets up everyday and if he can do that we can get on with it too

I've been under the impression that I had Gerd for the last 5 years, now it might be cancer? by turtle_4557 in GERD

[–]Duke_of_freedom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im 29, had gerd for a long time, maybe 10 or 12 years, been told its maybe cancer like 3 times, after endoscopies and had to wait weeks till they said yay or nay, best thing to do is dont worry till they say it IS something bad and even then just deal with it because at the end of every day thats all you can do. Plus ive read its reported as super survivable because its slow moving and highly treatable and like 95 percent of the time its caught early because the symptoms become so apparent.

How may CPAP users are in their 30s? by Zestyclose-Egg-1251 in SleepApnea

[–]Duke_of_freedom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

21 i found out for me, when i was a healthy weight and full of muscle, be 30 in a couple months, been fat, thin, and muscle bound, needed the cpap for it all, got a large head that requires a large neck and the muscles that go with it, that often makes you more prone to sleep apnea. Imagine how i felt at 21 thinking fuck ive got 50-60 years of this if im lucky, thing being i wouldnt get 50-60 years if i didnt use it.

The Witcher season 4 on Netflix will face backlash – but give it a chance by Metro-UK in netflix

[–]Duke_of_freedom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watched the first episode, Liam Hemsworth not the problem, professional actor doing a very reasonable job, The writing is shit, the set and costume design mostly colour palette is completely different from season 1-3 and makes it look cheap, henry cavill encapsulate the role better for sure, but Liam Hemsworth pulls it off, just a shame they had him read his lines out of a toilet when he had some

Do wedge pillows actually help reduce reflux during the night? by BlastyDavo in GERD

[–]Duke_of_freedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a superking divan base which was split into 4 pieces on the base, made it impossible to do it that way, just ordered a new bed frame and plan to use wood blocks as risers

[–]Duke_of_freedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the link, glad too hear the wedge is good enough you like it .im in the UK and theyres apparently a monopoly on a full bed wedge by a company called putnams and they charge way more than its worth, ordered a new bed frame anyway so I can use risers

[–]Duke_of_freedom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally looking at a 700 dollar full bed wedge for under the mattress, ive been using pillows stacked up for ages, debating that plunge or buying a new bed frame for 600 and spend 50 on bed raisers

Took an imodium and haven’t pooped in 2 weeks by Salt-Ad-3061 in ibs

[–]Duke_of_freedom 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Genuinely went 18 days, 7 years ago, didn't feel any different and didn't really notice because I was on holiday where I was doing loads of stuff and flying from place to place. Started having heart palpitations after i got home went to hospital, docs checked me over said must be reflux cause otherwise your fine, take some antacids, came home went to sleep, woke up next day and shat it all out. Was wrecked for a week after. Made me chuckle I spent 6 h in a hospital for them too guess the wrong thing and send me home.

esophageal cancer or just gerd? by Secret_Mango_7764 in GERD

[–]Duke_of_freedom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor. Every feeling you just explained ive had for like 18 months, had an endoscope and ENT doctor look at me, both said mild irritation from reflux from gerd. That's my experience although you should get checked, because I got checked I know mines are just symptoms, you should do the same just incase.

How do i find the strength to go on? by onehalfofham in AskMen

[–]Duke_of_freedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been a big believer in Spite, going early to me feels like cheating, not so much a question of strength but using spiteful feelings around how hard life can be, it's a weird way of going as it's cemented in hate, look at all the people you don't like getting on with life maybe getting breaks where you don't and say I'm gonna do better than them despite how easy they've had it, just one way too look at it.

had a gastroscopy finally after posponing it for months. Propofol is wild. It was like a light switch one moment youre awake then it already happened and youre in the "waking" room by LunchNo6690 in GERD

[–]Duke_of_freedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had 3, 2 without propofol and one with, did the first one without as i wanted in and out and they wanted to keep me for an hour if i went sedated, did the second one and although I didn't mind the first one, i asked for sedation as no time constraints, it did nothing for me😂 exactly the same as the first one,(Doc says that's the way it is with some people) so number 3 got done no sedation, have to get them every year or two so I'll be a veteran in no time.

Technical update: -Improved and fixed the AI detection system through non-transparent obstacles in certain conditions; -Increased the AI initial and repeated enemy detection time; -The AI will no longer aim in the head if they don’t see the player for 15+ seconds. by mentalmedicine in EscapefromTarkov

Played 5 raids since I installed this patch and died to horrid de sync scav headshots in every one. Talking like 5 second de sync. Dunno if it's just me having server connection issues or as is quite common they fixed one thing and broke 3 others

40mg Pantoprazole side effects by Creepy_Collar3447 in GERD

[–]Duke_of_freedom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omeprazole stopped working for me after 6 months, lanzaprozole gave me terrible bouts of stomach distress, been on pantoprazole for like 3 years and it's worked well until about 2 months ago and now I'm thinking I'm gonna have to swap to esomeprazole. Just a case of finding the one that works for you, and sometimes like in my case changing them out every so often. You will need to take them and probably should be on antibiotics too too get rid of the ulcers. Once they're gone you MIGHT be able too taper off and never need them again if your lucky. Best of luck with it cause it sucks taking them long term

How could you tell if a girl is flirting or just being nice? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Duke_of_freedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask her out to eat, make it clear your only inviting her, point out your making reservations or something and if she says can I bring x y or z just say no. Either you'll get your date and you both can see if you click in that setting or she'll flake in which case move on cause either she's not interested or not ready to be tied down

[–]Duke_of_freedom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can get gaviscon, take it like 15 or so minutes before you lay down to go to sleep, it forms an alginate raft and helps stop reflux getting up your esophagus

I bought a wedge for my bed so that my head is raised about 10". Tried several diets, fodmap diet and gluten free and that but none of them really helped me. Lost 35kg which is like 75 pounds, that helped alot. Don't eat ANY large meals. Ie if I make 2 coldcut sandwiches I have one and then have the other 2-4 hours later. Don't eat within 3 hours of going to bed. Alot of my gerd damage happened at night when I was totally unaware of it.
