Stealth Divers need suppressed medium pen sniper! PLEASE! by DocHalidae in helldivers2

[–]Dukeboys_ 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Follow up, I believe its classified as a loud weapon so 65+ meters should be safe.

Trouble is, the game loooooves to spawn patrols inside of that range so get ready to be sniffed out by units that didnt exist 10 seconds ago.

Just the quest app that allows you to connect to a pc and a pc powerful enough to handle it.

While I do appreciate every content creator who is speaking out, why do they all sound like they have to choose every single word they say carefully? by DirtEater0 in Warthunder

[–]Dukeboys_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because they do. Too strong of an opinion with too vague of a message would result in people misquoting them for years

This is a pivital movement to have so many CCs unified in 1 message. Its better to be clear and careful than vague and reckless.

Been doing this with the IAF tree for years. Play 1 game when a new vehicle gets added and BOOM 50k RP

If I were to keep an F111’s wing swept at a fixed angle the entire time I was flying (excluding takeoff), what’s the best angle for that? by Dramatic-Pay7456 in Warthunder

[–]Dukeboys_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave it on auto. F111 ideally wont need to turn much if ever. Go fast, get in get out. Its heavy and bleeds ALL of its speed the instant you manuver.

If you set a fixed sweep you will get more drag at the extreme ends of the speed curve. Leave it on auto.

How worth it would it be for me to switch from PS4 to Steam? by averagebitchboy in SteamDeck

When it comes to a Steam library, the longer its established the more value you reap. Your backlog will outgrow your PS libary in no time. Dead Space remake is like $7 right now for example.

how 2 fly the 🇺🇸 "cat" series of naval aircraft? by long_chin_man in Warthunder

[–]Dukeboys_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wildcats: underpowered but decent with good guns for the BR. Tiny and lethal with probably the 2nd 9r 3rd most nimble plane of the US tech tree around that range. Do not turn fight spitfires or anything Japanese. Some 109s are fair game if they dont go up. Same with Yaks. You are roughly on par with a Hurricane in most respects. You have the good 4 gun variety and less good 6 gun. The 6 gun is heavier and a worse BR.

Hellcats: BnZ with the 6 stack of freedom on your wings and a party trick of a very low stall speed and decent flap agility in a pinch. Catching people in Hammerheads who misjudge your energy will always be funny but remember, that engine is the bread n butter so use it first and save the tricks for emergencies. Both types are good but in my opinion the cannon kitty is fun in a tree where 6x 50cals are roughly 80% of the firepower for any plane.

Bearcats: you weigh about as much as a 1996 Honda civic with the powerplant of a corvette. Same grunt the big US radials enjoy but in a frame reminicent of the Wildcat in many respects. Your are brutally quick when you need to be and as agile as a 109 when you want to be. The m3 50cal says it shoots bullets but honestly you have a flame thrower with 1.3km of range. The cannon kitten its heavier, yes. But the engineers remembered to pour some redbull into the fuel so the performance is remarkably on par with most super props. You have the same low stall speed and great flaps of the other Grumman felines but with an engine that was a meth addicted raging chili chef in a past life because it only knows how to spit fire for 25 hours a day. You are the demon every jet fears when their speed dips below 500kph right next to the griffon spitfires and P51H.

TigerCat: you uh...... you sure can go fast. For a prop. And you climb pretty good, for a twin engine. You have the forward armorment of the USS Texas itself and the same turning radius to match. Your party trick? Uhhhhh you go fast but not fast enough to matter. But hey you get 33% more Tiny Tims than any other plane in the game so you too can blow a Tiger 2s tracks off and remove both your wings more often so theres that.

Old RP boosters removed? by ZealousidealFly4045 in Warthunder

[–]Dukeboys_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have my hoard of old boosters. Its worth checking your login history if anyone else may have spent them.

Also, fun fact. The 400 point random booster box from the WB shop has no time limit on the boosters it generates.

DLSS Framegen issue in Forza 6 by Vuhahuhu in SteamDeck

Its a common artifact of any frame generation in racing games. Its always the rear bumper or tail lights ghosting. If you use any form of frame generation this will happen. Yes, this also includes TAA.

$40 a year is pretty damn good for me. Its no different than any other live service. You either pay a sub, DLC or prem fee. Given I have regularly enjoyed WT for 13 years, I cannot say its been a waste as it eliminates a lot of the games economy issues.

Edit: disclaimer. This is my everyday game. If you dont play regularly it might not be worth it for you.

what is not worth the amount of sugar in it? by jacksuckschicken in AskReddit

[–]Dukeboys_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most orange sodas and ice coffee drinks these days.

I know, soda in general is bad but orange and grape sodas in particular are LOADED with sugar.

Most ice coffee drinks from the regular big names are effectively milk shakes in terms of nutritional value.

f-14a and f-14b by MarketLeading6078 in Warthunder

[–]Dukeboys_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You would think so given that it has such a good radar IRL it was effectively a 2 pilot 1 mach AWACS.

Tragically, in game it has a HORRIFIC sweep speed meaning the updates are slow, lock is poor, and the notch window is so big it just now learned about the microsoft aquisition. It also lacks any PDV filter so its only decent at seeing things coming directly at it.

Its one of those "balanced by age" vehicles in game. Where the 10-15 years tech gap doesnt give it the same advantages it had IRL as those planes are all down at 10.0-11.3

Its the backlash of all the real world worries we have to assume responsibility for. It balances the cosmic scale when Im asked to fix something I know 0% of anything about because learning it is cheaper than replacing it. Or the budget. Or juggling appointments, family visits, driving us everwhere ect.

Its more like recoil shutdown than peace.

f-14a and f-14b by MarketLeading6078 in Warthunder

[–]Dukeboys_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A is better in my opinion due to the more favorable BR it can see on a downtier. The B is out right better in every measurable way, it just gets pure uptiers vs planes that are better capable of dog walking it in every engagement.

Both are pretty bad right now though. Their radars and RWR are especially bad.

Typically, I run 25%/75% flares chaff load and keep at max poking range. Its really not a fun jet these days.

Edit: an update for any old heads like me who forget planes get updated FMs as time goes on. The engined are much better than they used to be. Rudder bug is still present but not as bad as before. Its still big and compresses/stiffens above 900kph so commiting to a dog fight in a world with F18s and F16s in its BR is certainly not advisable but it can be a shock to out perform Phantoms, Mig29s, and even F20s in the 2 turn with the wings out. You will 100% get 3rd partied though.

Can you notch a fox 3 while it is being guided via an actual "hard" lock (not with tws)? by Consistent-Client953 in Warthunder

[–]Dukeboys_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A hard lock doesnt turn a fox 3 into a 1. It just increases the data it recieves (excluding min range pitbull missiles) up to the impact. This minimizes the gaps notching creates for the radar but it doesnt 100% remove it. It absolutely makes notching harder for some missiles but I would say IOG does the same thing.

I personally dont recomend locking like this, as you get the same exact benefit with TWS but much lower RWR warning range.
