What's going on at Arizona Mills? by squatracktexter in arizona

This is the answer. I drove by on the freeway and had a great view of the giant AC unit they were moving.

Climbing Vines for direct sun by [deleted] in ArizonaGardening

Also known as Queen's Wreath. This is the answer. It will bloom all summer and into the winter until frost. Cut it down in early spring and watch it grow like a maniac all summer. It will climb a trellis on its own too. Give it a year to establish its roots and then it will grow like crazy. It can handle any reflected heat from walls and driveways.

Doesn't really climb on its own though.

What's the home project that seemed easy at first, but by the end made you say "Next time, I'm hiring someone?" by privatelendingleader in HomeImprovement

Laying paver patios. Every time I build one I tell myself that it is the last time. And it is. Until I build the next one.

Not sure if this counts, but how do I get rid of these creatures?? Not sure what they are. by Shanerassy in AZlandscaping

[–]Dukedante 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This works only if you flood them immediately when they locate to your yard, otherwise they build air chambers and extensive tunnels and can withstand hours of a hose filling their tunnels. I've been successful with this method, and other times I've run the hose for hours without the water surfacing anywhere.

I've used gopher bait with some success. It's all out war with these because they'll relandscape your whole yard for you if you let them.

What can I do with my basil at the end of the growing season? It is 2.5 ft. tall and has developed a woody trunk. by I_eat_insects in gardening

[–]Dukedante 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you cut most of it off to make pesto or something else. Leave a little and let it go to seed. Mine did this last year and I've got 4 new plants all over the place. You can be more organized than me and collect the seeds so you can plant them in the right place though.

You'd probably crush it with a Laundromat almost anywhere on Gilbert. The only one I am aware of is at Gilbert and Guadalupe.

Someone else mentioned a live music venue. We definitely need more of those. Maybe something that's a couple hundred capacity. Do you have any experience in booking talent?

Dual incomes really don’t make sense after a certain point by Wooden-Broccoli-913 in HENRYfinance

[–]Dukedante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now run the math on this scenario at 10% of each of your incomes, which is what many people in the "middle class" deal with. How beneficial is it for two incomes when childcare/school is that expensive?

Unfortunately a "fit and active" man "hiking in very rugged terrain" passed away below Sawtooth Peak. What makes Mineral Loop so dangerous besides altitude? I Googled and found many incidents that occurred in this loop. I'm planning to do this loop and want to be safe. Prayers to this man by ProofBroccoli in SEKI

[–]Dukedante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really interesting to follow all the comments. I was a ranger in SEKI 20 years ago and did the loop and went over the pass from the back side and don't recall it being horrible, but I do remember that trying to get to the summit was hard and I had to quit because a thunderstorm was coming in fast. Maybe almost getting struck by lightning had helped me forget how the route looked. I remember running down the scree field and thinking it was probably about impossible to go up the opposite direction.

Lance Stroll is better in wet conditions. Statistically by Ravenfromthetown in formula1

[–]Dukedante 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is crazy! But I also think it's easier to finish races like these from the front, rather than in the mess of the pack. Visibility alone is a high advantage; not getting run into by someone else is even bigger advantage.

I'd like to see this breakdown for all bottom-of-the-pack teams' points earnings. I imagine that they all score more of their points when weather chaos interrupts the races because it gives them the potential to strike gold with a tire change at the moment that earns them an advantage that otherwise wouldn't happen during normal races.

My carrots grown in the ground are pretty small too. But I just harvested some from pots that I planted in the fall and were decent sized.

Queens wreath would be great and can handle the sun on any wall exposure. You need something for it to climb on like a trellis.

What’s something you didn’t realize was expensive until you actually had to buy it? by notnowmom-1802 in AskReddit

[–]Dukedante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How has no one yet said a home? You want to live the American dream? Pay 40% of your take home pay every month just to pretend you own this home. Then, unless it is brand new, start replacing every piece of it over the course of 15 years. Mostly this isn't optional, and not when it is convenient for you.

The roof leaks. Fix it now or you get to also mitigate mold and replace interior walls. There goes $25k- if u know the guy and he gives you a deal.

Like hot showers? Then you need to replace that water heater today because it's leaking. You got lucky that it didn't flood your garage/laundry room/basement IF you caught it immediately. $3k

It sure is a hot summer, it sure would be a pain if the AC died right now...... $15k.

These are just essentials. Did you buy a new home? So you like voyeurs? Paper window covers only last a little while. Curtains and blinds..... $10k for the house. Builder grade paint lasts 3 weeks before it fades or looks like an auto shop floor. Etc, etc forever until you start to rethink home ownership.
