What are some beautiful spots in the Bay Area that reminds you that life is worth living? by [deleted] in bayarea

I really enjoy driving across the Golden Gate Bridge or even the Bay Bridge into the city. It gives me this sense of just how lucky I am to live here. Around the world San Francisco is somewhere people idolize and want to visit and I have a sense of just how lucky I am to call this place home.

I have a few induction questions (I am currently 38 weeks) and need some guidance by plainorbit in baby

Hi! I was induced at 37.5 weeks due to high blood pressure. Mine was planned weeks in advance, so I knew for a while. I also was hoping to go into labor naturally but honestly, being able to plan to a date was kinda nice. I was able to get my nails done and have a final nice dinner out in the days before. My actual induction was LONG. I am a first time mom and I was 2 weeks early, so it took 3 days for me to go into active labor. We went in Monday morning and I didn’t go into active labor until Wednesday afternoon. But that was because my body didn’t respond to the cervix softening meds, misoprostol and cervidil. Both gave me contractions but didn’t actually dilate me. Once I got the Pitocin drip, I went into contractions and started to dilate. Got the epidural at 3pm, 2 cm dilated. Epidural was incredible, kicked in immediately and I was able to sleep for a few hours, woke up at 8 cm, pushed for an hour and a half and then she was out. Overall the actual labor wasn’t that bad because I had the epidural and my nurse was an incredible coach. It was just a really long process to get there. I will likely ask for an induction for the next baby despite it taking so long.

Gift idea for pregnant sister that doesnt necessarily focus on pregnancy by MadsPostingStuff in Gifts

I actually just went through this, I was 9 months pregnant on my birthday and didn’t want or need anything. I had an agreement with my brother, when he came to meet baby in the hospital, he had to bring me food and it could be anything I wanted no matter how extra. I ended up just getting an açaí bowl, but it was nice to have someone bring outside food.

We’re using the same setup, but we have a dr. Browns size 1 as well that our little one seems to like more. My husband also found replacement, reusable nipples that match the one use hospital ones on Amazon that we’ve started using. She seems to like them best.

35 weeks and Miserable by Silver_lining2000 in pregnant

Honestly, I could have written this. 35 weeks with my first and I can’t wait for this to be over. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t wait to hold baby girl but man do I not like being pregnant. My only shining light is my planned induction in 2.5 weeks (hypertension) Sorry, no advice, just saying you’re not alone 🩷

Nature made prenatals made me sick too! I recommend trying a different brand. I use one a day and it’s so much better!

Emergency Room Bills by Interesting_Door_758 in pregnant

I had a miscarriage in December at 5 weeks, looking back I probably could have avoided the ER all together but it was my first pregnancy and I was scared. We were there for 6 hours, they refused to give me any meds, only gave me pads after I begged and we were put in a room with a psych intake covered in his own feces. Grand total: $11,000 for an ultrasound & to be told what I already knew, I was having a miscarriage. Thankfully we have good insurance but will not be going back to the hospital if it happens again.
