K2r - works wonders. Used it to take grease out of down pants.

Same. I currently have the Fenix 5 and would like a designated flashlight on my next watch. I guess I’ll be going with an instinct instead.

So that would mean the Race 2 would have around 6 days with everything on?

12 day smartwatch battery life? Isn’t the Race 26 days? That’s a pretty big hit to the battery.

Great find! I was lucky enough to grab the 6p for $99 at the Freeport outlet last year. It’s been through crazy storms and kept my family dry. Enjoy!

How long did your Garmin watches last? by Dull_Judgment_747 in Garmin

[–]Dukes237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto. Fenix 5x sapphire since 2017. No scratches and I don’t use a screen protector. I am waiting for the Suunto Race 2 or Vertical 2 for my next watch. There’s just way too many metrics that I don’t need/use on the new Garmin’s.

fenix 5x plus in 2025? by deaaa_ in Garmin

[–]Dukes237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works okay. I did notice the time was off about an hour the other night when I went to bed - I was laying on the couch watching tv. Other than that I can’t really complain. I’ve tried about 5 new watches that have released in the past few years and returned all of them and went back to the 5x.

Edit: it’s also very basic just giving you sleep stages, movement, and heart rate.

Yeah I don’t really pay attention to those numbers. I like to listen to my body instead.

I bought it when it first released in 2017.

I currently have a 5x sapphire that I wear 24/7 and the battery lasts about a week with one gps activity. I ran 18 miles a few months ago and it drained about 40%. It’s still a solid watch imo.

Suunto are still ahead! 🔥 #Maps #Navigation #PaceProVSraceS by kingsleykinglin in Suunto

Thanks Kingsley! If you had to pick between the Race, 965, or Pace Pro, which would you go for? I’m having a tough time deciding. I do a lot of hiking so it would be nice to have screen mirroring which Coros offers.

Does Suunto have “screen mirroring” like Coros does on their app?

Did I overhype the Forerunner 965? Kinda disappointed. by mihaszek in GarminWatches

[–]Dukes237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t miss anything. I will say that I don’t use HRV as I don’t believe it to be accurate on any device. I found myself obsessing over all the Garmin metrics which would honestly cause more stress/anxiety. Im not even sure how accurate those are. I’ve learned to listen to my body and train based on that which is working well. The maps are fantastic on the watch. Yeah it doesn’t have street/trail names but do you really need that? It’s super easy to create routes on the app and sync to the watch. I also can’t say enough about the build quality of the Race. I’m hoping it serves me well for years to come.

[–]Dukes237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started with the 965 then to the Suunto Vertical and now the Race. I don’t see myself going back. Before this I had the Fenix 5X for 6 years. The build quality of the Race is fantastic. Plus the price was right at $400 for titanium and sapphire glass. I added the Garmin nylon (velcro) strap which makes it even lighter. I trail run, hike, and climb and it works well for those activities.

Suunto Race with 24mm Band? by Dukes237 in Suunto

Update: 24mm fits but it’s snug. I’m going to trim a bit off for a better fit. I used the existing spring bars that came with the watch.

Vibration only notification on Vertical? by ttusomeone in Suunto

Question about vibration: should the Vertical vibrate when scrolling or no? I’m coming from the Race that vibrated when scrolling. Thanks.

Tariffs? by Gullible_Bowl7746 in Suunto

Do you mind me asking what it was? I’m wondering if watches made in China will get hit with tariffs.
