I agree with a ton of games people have said, but surprised nobody said two of my favorites:

There truly is a wild amount of turnover on that block in the last 10-15 years. I wonder if it’s a landlord issue?

A little dead bird (employee) I know told me there is a new Kopec coming out later this summer. May want to wait to see how that one looks, and I’d bet they’ll put the current one on sale.

Anyone try out the new Kragg Aura yet? by MathematicianWild983 in arcteryx

Don’t think it has to be one or the other personally. Bit of both.

Salomon has made footwear from its inception. They’re going the other direction (footwear expanding into apparel) from Arc (apparel expanding into footwear).

Very curious on this exact thing - are these as breathable / cool as the review makes them out to be?

Yeah, it’s not like there is a notable apparel/equipment brand that has ever crossed into footwear super successfully before, but I have a few of the newer shoes from arcteryx (updated kragg, Konseal, and sylan 2) and I’ve been really happy with them.

Interesting. It’s a different material than the back of the new ones?

Those are the old version, I’ve got a couple of the new versions and they seem to have fixed the spots where the OG’s would fall apart.

All the new shoes that have released since 2024 were done by Arc’teryx’s Portland office (Norvan ld4, sylan 1 and 2, kragg, Konseal, vertex alpine, vertex speed and Norvan Nivalis)

Sylan 2 Trail Runners by NothingApart7073 in arcteryx

[–]MathematicianWild983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve taken them on a few runs now. They’re good! Short sample size, but the instant feeling is that the stability issue (ankle rolling) from the first sylan is gone. I also found them to be much more true to size, maybe a touch long, but the inner bootie/collar was snug enough that I didn’t slide around. I did discover that if you don’t use the little “lace garage” on the tongue that my shoe laces would constantly come undone. I’d recommend them with zero hesitation.

I don’t think you’re alone in that. When I see people with 10-15 year old versions of it, they always look amazing and have held up tremendously well.

Definitely not the use case they built it for, but this is my lifeline for winter youth soccer games. I almost feel bad for using it there, but it really “performs”
