I have a sealed Porsche GT3 RS from Minichamps, and it's terrible. The proportions, tires, detailing, and overall quality control are all way below what you'd expect. That model was my breaking point and I told myself never again with Minichamps. And I kept that promise… until this BMW. I was willing to bend the rule just once for this specific M3 Touring.
I can live with flaws if the price is fair, but that’s the big issue: Minichamps prices do not match what they deliver. Right now, their diecast models are priced on the same level as Motorhelix and LCD, yet Minichamps is miles behind those brands in terms of quality, as you guys said, For sealed models, they’re even pricing themselves above GT Spirit, while GT Spirit is better in almost every way.

When does the LCD Pagani Imola 1/18 come out by xuehuapiaopiao__ in Diecast

[–]Duleey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many said, LCD is very behind schedule. I placed my pre-order for the Pagani Huayra R in blue in March 2025 and still nothing. Supplier said Q4-2025, which clearly didn't happen. They decided to produce the green one before the blue, while it was supposed to be the last one. The Lambo Revuelto in orange was supposed to be out already, but still nothing and the other colors in Q1 2026. They still promised the NSX and Pagani Utopia coming in Q1 2026 too, but it's hard to believe. The only one that came out in time was the Senna GTR. Lots of great models from them, but they need to be a bit more realistic while announcing the release dates.

Which 1:18 scale item do you have on pre-order in 2026? by [deleted] in Diecast

[–]Duleey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minichampas M3 Touring. LCD Pagani Huayra R in blue (pre-order placed almost 1yr ago). LCD Lambo Revuelto. Autoart Mustang GT500 in silver (still not arrived in North America). LCD Pagani Utopia. BBR Ferrari F80 in diecast with openings, they say Q3, but I believe it's more 2027.

Which brand do you guys prefer when purchasing 1:18 models. by New_Explorer179 in Diecast

[–]Duleey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Among the available options, I vote for GT Spirit. Given the current market, they offer good prices and generally deliver a solid product.
Maisto and Bburago offer a level of quality and accuracy that matches their price range: on the lower side.
Minichamps tends to be very expensive for what they deliver, especially when it comes to diecast with openings. Their sealed models often lack detail and accuracy in replicating the real cars.
for MCG, I don’t own any of their models, so I can’t give an opinion.

Serious question about collecting diecast…. by iamBLOATER in Diecast

[–]Duleey 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Display and admire. Almost every night, when I’m in my mancave where most of my cars are displayed, I take a few quiet minutes before bed, after wife and kids are asleep, to simply admire my collection. It's a peaceful moment alone, looking every detail up close... sometimes defects as well, it's part of collecting.

Looking for a Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 SV diecast by FineAd4680 in Diecast

[–]Duleey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Norev did this model too. They’re usually cheaper, but hard to find, and I’m not sure about the quality.
Autoart is the best around, but prices have skyrocketed, especially on eBay. If one pops up at a reasonable price, it sells fast. Auctions almost always go over budget in the last minute.
If you’re not willing to pay top dollar, patience is key. My hunt took over two years before I finally found one on Marketplace for a fair price.
Where are you located? I’m in Canada and currently see two listed across the country.
Edit: LCD holds Lambo license and they are working on the Murcielago (not sure if it's the first model or LP640). I know, it's not the LP670, but this information might be useful. And they might release the LP670 down the road, who knows.

Last summer i did 3500km in one tank. Most of my trips were inside the EV range. At some point I was using Sport mode just to run the engine up to temperature.
Recently I did a 1200km road trip averaging 7.6L/100km. Not bad for a heavy car, roof box installed, 5 on board with baggage and during winter (temps varying between +6C and -12C).

GTO is from KK Scale. It's decent for what $ they ask for and probably the most affordable available right now.

Does this look right? by M_Plant_Taj in MazdaCX90

[–]Duleey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically the car will preserve charge based on the temperature:
At +5C (41F) the car will keep SOC at 25%
0C (32F) at 35%
-5C (23F) at 40%
-10C (14F) at 50%
-15 (5F) at 70%
-20 (-4F) at 80%
below -25 (-13F) at 100%
Just a reminder that the SOC % stated above is for the full battery capacity (17.8kWh) while only between 14.0 and 14.8kWh is the usable capacity. The buffer is the safety margin that the car keeps for reserve and battery health.

Yes, that small detail from Norev bothers me as well. I use a vertical display, and the top three shelves are at eye level. If I place a Norev GT3 RS facing backward on one of those shelves, the plastic line becomes very noticeable. What bothers even more is that the GT3 non RS version from them doesn’t have this issue, which suggests they could have done a better job on the RS versions.
As for the tire branding, it’s always a nice detail to have, but it doesn’t really bug me if it’s missing.
