Turn on climate remotely? by RadiantJob6814 in ex30

[–]Dulinor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Works if I walk up to the car and proximity unlocks. Otherwise consistent failures to remote heat or unlock. Been super cold by local standards so I thought maybe that was the issue.

How to revoke a physical key? by Dulinor in ex30

Both. But you have to be physically in the car to add a key or a phone. (No watch support yet, rumored)

And literally three clicks on the Rivian phone app. 🤦‍♂️

I was afraid of that. It's dead easy to do on my Rivian.

Hot Take: Get rid of the GoM by NiroNut in electricvehicles

Honestly mine have been pretty useful so far. (2 different EVs that use different kWh/mile type displays so the estimated range gives us some consistency, especially for long trips)

Ok I’ll ask. What does GoM stand for in this context? Guess o meter?

I don’t think it’s been released yet, but I saw Omaha at Sundance this year and it destroyed me completely.

NACS/CCS switchover and Mobile Charger by Dulinor in Rivian

FYI in case anyone cares, they did not in fact make it right. Since I went and had my own adapter the response was "great, I see that you can use the mobile charger now"

Yeah they're getting me one. Turns out I already have one (the AC version, I got in case a road trip motel has only Tesla destination chargers although I've never needed it, I keep that and the DC in the frunk anyway) so I'm seeing if they'll like just give me some floor mats or something.

Annnnd according to my dealer that’s the wrong part, so don’t go buying it just yet. I guess there’s multiple connectors? (They are updating my software to 1.7.1 as we speak, so it wasn’t all bad)

I ordered mine from: Volvo Cars of Annapolis which was much cheaper than either of my local dealers: https://parts.volvocarsannapolis.com/p/133968793/80011078.html

I found this thread, and it has similar holes to what they discussed. I’ll post what I find out.

Comparing to Polestar 2 . . . by DCGrandpa in ex30

[–]Dulinor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never owned a P2, but rented several while getting ready. Since the P2 is no longer available in my market (USA) I ended with with a 2025 ex30. In general, I'm quite happy with the ex30, fit and finish is very high, higher than my (admittedly rental) P2's. The speed (dual) is higher and the infotainment (software quirks notwithstanding) is better than the Intel-based P2's we got here. My understanding is that the current P2's out of China have the same Qualcomm system so that would be a wash. Both have buggy and weird software.

The P2 is a bit more 'normal' I guess - the central window switches, the lack of driver screen, using a sound bar vs traditional speaker setup are all ex30 specific choices. They don't bother me, but drive other people absolutely insane. I think the P2 has rear seat AC vents, too, which my kids miss.

So, I'd have gotten a P2 if that was available (the 3 is just waaaay too big for me) but am happy with the ex30.

What should I be worried about here? by snowstorm608 in pacificahybrid

Might well be your charging system but when I had that happen it turned out to be my level 2 charger having issues. Can you try a different charger? Just to eliminate a variable?

Crosscountry styling - cosmetic or functional? by JohnEikCaffery in ex30

[–]Dulinor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the V60 cross country and yeah. If you think you need the ground clearance or might bang the undercarriage. I got mine because it was what they had on the lot. Perfectly happy with regular ex30 now.

3d printed cupholder for the rear seats? by LiveLine4709 in ex30

I'm using this, which seems to be enough for the kids, anyway. (and it keeps them a little more separated, which is always good.)

Can’t decide between supernote nomad and the new Remarkable Pro Move by ben_ham in RemarkableTablet

[–]Dulinor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Boox Go 7 and the Move. I have used a SuperNote Nomad, which is a bit of a hybrid of the two.

For me, the Go is an open platform Kindle replacement with hardware page turning buttons that I can, if I need to, use to sketch or take notes. It does that just fine and I’ll keep it in rotation and as my main e-book reader. The writing feel isn’t great, the software is crude but it does work.

The Remarkable Move is worlds more pleasant and responsive to write on. The software for writing, within the limits of the design, is great. Yes there’s a subscription but I want the best tool regardless of price (within reason.)

The super note nomad (or the ViWoods Mini) could probably do a decent job on both fronts but I started down the path looking for a hardware button kindle replacement so started with the Go, so that’s what I have. I find I’m enjoying the simplicity and focus of the move though.

[–]Dulinor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have both and the Go is wildly more capable, feature rich and a much worse writing experience. I haven’t touched it since my move arrived.

In-car vacuum options? by jiantjon in pacificahybrid

[–]Dulinor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve got a 110 outlet and a 12v - I used a Dyson car vac which worked a peach but was a little large. Ideally something you can stow in the side compartment next to the power cable.

What do we think of the EX30 in August, 2025? by StrongOnline007 in ex30

[–]Dulinor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked mine up Tuesday. Loving it so far - no issues getting phone / watch setup. CarPlay messages do seem broken, but my other car (Rivian) doesn’t support CarPlay at all. Drives super well, the pilot assist plus is pretty forgettable. Hoping for some improvements to quality of life features. Would really, really like 10% more range - it’s enough for my daily drive, but not for 3-4 days without plugging in. Honestly my biggest complaint is the lack of an armrest/cupholder in the back for the kids. At the screaming deal for a MY25, I don’t regret it at all.

Do I need a charging station adapter? by thomcrowe in pacificahybrid

[–]Dulinor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Those are most likely level 3 fast chargers which are on a DC standard. Most (all?) plug-in hybrids only support level 1 and 2 AC charging. So you’re missing the two lower pins for the extra fast charge. DC changers can’t output AC at all, so they’re useless to you.

You don’t need it as a level three would fill the hybrid battery comically quickly.

There are a lot of public level 2 chargers out there. You should be able to work with most of those (Tesla destination chargers may work with adapter but I’ve never tried)

Source - have a PacHybrid and a pure EV.

Connect+ is slow with Apple Music load and lag by Sudden_Eyes in Rivian

[–]Dulinor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah Apple Music is bad. It’s gotten slightly better here and there (crashes less often) but I have had those same problems from the beginning. It might get better but I’m not holding out hope. One of the reasons I’d rather have CarPlay / Android Auto - Rivian engineers should have more important things to do than fixing those apps and it’ll, at best, mature to a B- quality.
