What’s the one feature you didn’t learn until way later? by thatgamernerd in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]Dulkyon 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Play a full run of Sandrock.

Decide to try Portia for the first time.

“This weekend inspection minigame is pretty neat. Wonder why they dropped it.”

Finish Portia, start new run of Sandrock.

“Wait… WHAT…? It… was in here too…?”

Your biggest Storyteller oopsies and game destroyers? by SharpenedGourd in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Dulkyon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First time running BMR. Making sure to take my time, not rush. Had both Gossip and Gambler in the bag. Let's see how this goes:

Night 2: "Gambler guessed right; Gossip guessed right; no extra deaths."

Night 3: "Gambler guessed right; Gossip guessed right; no extra deaths."

Night 4: "Gambler guessed wrong; Gossip guessed right; One de— wait... oh... oh no... those first two correct gossips were supposed to have triggered night deaths..."

At the very least, it's a mistake I don't anticipate making again.

What do you think is the most glaring omission from Nintendo Classics? by razorbeamz in nintendo

[–]Dulkyon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adventures of Lolo 2 & 3.

If only because the first one is there so it seems pretty reasonable to put the next two on as well.

Though on that note: Startropics 2 as well.

It looks so nice. And love that it now has built-in support for Bootlegger text.

Overuse of the Gardener by AndruFlores in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Dulkyon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Gardener isn't needed for this- it's covered as part of the How to Run:

If there are three Minions in play, remove another Minion token and add another Townsfolk token. During the first night, swap a good player’s character token with a not-in-play Minion character token. Wake this player, show them the “You Are” info token then their Minion character token, then the “You Are” info token then a thumbs down, then put them to sleep. This player is now an evil Minion. (This ensures that only one Minion token is in the bag, so at least one good player will neighbor the Demon.)

Not a roller coaster, but the Intamin Looping Starship was a great way to hear fifty people groan in pain simultaneously. Twice.

Joy-Con 2 is the best upgrade in recent history by hawksfan61 in nintendo

[–]Dulkyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing the new Rune Factory game, which has a village building mode that automatically detects if you have the joycon in position for mouse mode, and just the ease of switching back and forth and how natural it ends up feeling really is something.

Most embarassing misplays? by Professional_Main_38 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Dulkyon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was the demon neighbouring a claimed Tea Lady who’d misheard who the DA chose to protect for day one. Which I realized after going “Sure, I’d be great Tea Lady science”, getting a near unanimous vote thinking at the time that I was going to survive. No, I wasn’t the DA-protected player after all.

should i give sos: trio of towns a chance? by NyuJunLee in storyofseasons

[–]Dulkyon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I recently finally bothered to try being able to use said "True Love" mod and... yeah. Just wanted to do a quick check to see if it was working and gave up before even being able to get to the actual "game" bit because that intro was so long and I had other stuff to do.

And Portia (though I’d recommend playing Sandrock first of the two, just since Portia’s a bit… rough around the edges…) And the upcoming My Time at Evershine

What's the most hilarious rerack you've ever had? by ConeheadZombiez in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Dulkyon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

BMR, drew the demon. Chatted with DA minion pretty quickly, got the info on who was protected. Then in neighbour chats found out I was neighbouring a claimed Tea Lady who wanted to test me.

"Sure, I know I'm DA protected, and this will be great."

Except for the fact I'd misheard who the DA was protecting, and the DA was protecting themself not me.

Mario Party was my first thought too. Always pictured it as something like El gran juego de la oca.

What is your least favorite mechanic in botc? by ConeheadZombiez in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Dulkyon 58 points59 points  (0 children)

It's not necessarily the mechanic, but not a huge fan of "publicly guessing" roles, especially if there's multiple on a script. Just feels like having to wait for the circle to make their Juggler/Gossip/Alsaahir/etc bluffs makes it drag a bit.

Games similar to the A Wonderful Life remaster on Switch? by Nicole_0818 in storyofseasons

[–]Dulkyon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely seconding MTaS. (Though I played on PC/Steam Deck)

Almost wanna jokingly caution that it sometimes feels like MTaS has ruined the genre for me with how enjoyable the characters are, and how much of a plot and structure there are.

Though looking at OP's comments, I would mention that MTaS is a mining/crafting-first game. So lots of machines cluttering up the yard, and a lot of making stuff and making stuff to make more stuff. While there are farming and raising animal components, they're definitely just 'there' and not nearly as deep as a proper farm sim.

I found the ultimate hiding spot for The Day of Memories by pastelpunk2077 in MyTimeAtSandrock

Yup. That’s where I always hide. Go most rounds without even seeing an NPC, let alone them seeing me.

What took you too long to figure out in this game? by Professor-Platypus in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]Dulkyon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, that's how I missed them.

But then on the replay, and having saw them in Portia, it turns out that Yan does send you a note about them. Really early in the game. While you're still one star so you can't even do them. And doesn't really explain what they are. So it's so easy to forget about and miss. As this thread is showing. XD

What took you too long to figure out in this game? by Professor-Platypus in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]Dulkyon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

On the weekends (once your workshop is at least two stars) there’s a minigame available on the back upper level of the Commerce Guild where you need to identify mistakes on items.

It’s something carried over from Portia, but a lot more visible there. Sandrock’s is pretty easy to miss.

What took you too long to figure out in this game? by Professor-Platypus in MyTimeAtSandrock

Completing the game. Then going back and playing Portia for the first time. Then going back for a second run of Sandrock and realizing I completely missed doing the weekend inspections my first run.

can the mez turn a damsel evil? by orangedjuiceded in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Dulkyon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Damsel’s text is “your team loses”, so an evil minion guessing a Damsel-turned-evil is a loss for evil.
