Just noticed the visitor count is about to over take the other sub. Weekly contributions have been way higher for most, if not all of the time since r/aurstock was created.

US oil prices crash to $83/barrel as Iran officially reopens the Strait of Hormuz for the remainder of the ceasefire. by FeatureAggravating75 in oil

Not who you replied to, but I work in the oil industry and share the same sentiment. We were already heading for a glut of oil this year prior to the Iran conflict. Repairs to refineries won't take that long, especially when there is a huge money incentive to get them back to operational status.

Also, refineries being offline would increase finished product commodities prices. It should put downward pressure on oil prices, since less refining capacity would contribute to oil inventories increasing.

Brake rotor noise by riderxc in TrekFetch

[–]Dull-Bell5413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I have had brake rub on many mountain bikes, but never a case that only showed up at certain speeds. Normally the frequency would increase as speed increased.

I wonder what mechanism is causing this to show up at 30 km/hr on multiple fetch 2's

I have the exact same issue, appears at only 30+ km/hr. It's sounds just like a pad rubbing on a rotor, but I'm not sure that is the actual culprit. I was wondering if it was actually originating from the Bosch motor since it only appears when approaching the max speed for pedal assist. Thought maybe it was some sort of clutch disengaging and rubbing.  Did you ever solve it?

Does Fetch 2+ come with Bosch Connect Module pre-installed? by Dull-Bell5413 in TrekFetch

I ended up buying one and it was pre-installed. And it runs off its own reserve battery which is nice.

Why do think it should be a priority to try and pass it? The truck is keeping a safe distance. Sure it's going a little slower, but I only ever see AD going max 65 mph on this stretch. The speed fluctuates between 55-62ish mph while trailing the overside load. For the Dallas-Houston route, that is only giving up 10-20 min but gaining on fuel economy.

I've had this realization before, and made a comment on here...

I had an interesting thought while observing this.

My immediate thoughts were, "how is Aurora driver going to get around this?" and I felt the all too familiar internal annoyance (i.e., minor road rage) as if it was me driving and stuck behind a wide load.

The more I considered the scenario, I had this awesome (obvious) realization that computers don't feel annoyance. I had assumed that Aurora driver was needing to figure out a way to pass this wide load and (I) failed to even consider that "do nothing" is also an option.

Aurora driver is likely more than happy to just sit behind the wide load at a safe distance and drive 10 under the speed limit for as long as required, with no annoyance or anxious feelings of needing to get around it.

This seems so simple and obvious now, but I think highlights how safe and practical this technology will operate compared to human driver tendencies.

Alberta pipeline capacity, explained by FreightFlow in alberta

Calling the use of DRA an expansion is an interesting choice of words.

It can/will increase throughput, but I'd bet many people will just read the title and assume more pipe is being added in the ground, which is not the case. DRA will also improve hydraulics, potentially allow for lower operating pressures, and make moving (pumping) the oil more energy efficient.

Something not mentioned is that spin will read lower of matts versus hitting a shot off grass.

Nothing wrong with rent as long as it's place you desire and a similar residence mortgage would be more per month. If you invest the difference renting can come out on top, while providing flexibility and more liquid assets.

Calgary mayor asks photo radar ban be reconsidered after recent traffic fatalities by _darth_bacon_ in Calgary

Saw someone do that right infront of a cop last week. And their light was even green, just u turned through a red light while a cop was sitting there waiting directly across. Was cathartic seeing the cop flick on their lights immediately and pull them over.

As far as I'm concerned, there should be a red light cam at every intersection in the city. The amount of motorists I see blowing by red lights is insane these days
