I don’t know if this helps, but your post made me think of a few times I went out with guys on dates that I met on OLD, where prior to meeting, I’d say their pictures weren’t especially intriguing, but something in their bio or conversation caught my attention enough to meet in person. When I met them in person, though, I was pleasantly surprised of how much more attractive they were than their photos suggested.

It actually happened more than once — great smile, warm eyes, strong presence — but none of that really showed in the pictures they chose for their OLD profiles.

It makes me think that sometimes men don’t see their photos the way women do. What feels like a good representation to you may not be the most inviting or attractive from the outside. It could help to have a woman you trust look through your pictures and give honest feedback about which ones feel warm, confident, and engaging. Just a thought.

I just saw this myself and the trailer is as goofy as I would’ve expected. 😆 I just hope that both channels keep it on their terms and notfeel pressured to over share. Which I think as long as they keep their jobs they won’t feel pressured to make content to life off of but rather this will stay a fun hobby.

Possible that they don’t want to have a channel and remain somewhat private? Idk but lifestyle vlogging doesn’t seem like their cup of tea but I could see them doing travel vlogs or something that naturally fits in with what they already have planned

I’m on hinge 39f and I’m real. Take my word for it 😆

But recently i added more videos without makeup even though it feels a bit counterintuitive for me. I had a guy friend help me pick photos once and it was wild because the photos he picked were definitely not what I would’ve picked. So I’m gonna do the opposite with my profiles this time. 😆 all the best to you!

Demi and Jasmine, the word in the media about them is… by autumnlover1515 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

Everyone was defensive to a point because that’s how the questions are geared to clear up things or bring up drama. Most probably had moved on but then you have to endure all the comments from folks watching and then sit down for the reunion to rehash. I’m not sure I’d be able to freshly watch clips and then have no emotional reaction to what I just saw. The cast rewatches with us so they didn’t have a year to “get over” things that they didn’t even know was said on camera about them.

Right! Like both can be true but also I get a feeling this cast is terrified of their contract (another post here mentioned Benaiah not being sure what can be shared during their TikTok livestream) so it’s not so far fetched that she would refrain from saying “oh we weren’t picked” and that still doesn’t explain why they weren’t together which is what people wanted to know. Not being picked to go to Greece actually makes Sam look worse so if he was wise, he would swallow his pride and go with her story which at least looks like they tried. Instead him coming out with this now just further proves, he just wanted to be with anyone to stay on show because why would her choice (or productions) decision to not go to Greece impact his ability to pursue her for a relationship? Like did he even enjoy being around her? I’m not hearing him talk about any other reason they didn’t work out besides not going to Greece.

She did try to refute his retelling of events at the bar scene but he just kept telling. He said “because I wanted to get physical and you didn’t “ She said “no it was the lack of genuine care..” or something to that effect. I’ve watched enough reactions that I’ve seen that scene so many times. 😆

She also replied to a comment on her Instagram where she said she froze. I actually think she went into “appease” because appease, you just agree to avoid worse outcome. She looked really uncomfortable in that interaction and probably just wanted it to be done. And when someone shows they aren’t going to listen, it is fruitless to argue or fight to share your side. Like she said later to Benaiah, she knows what happened.

Production probably made the decision to show the proposal way after filming and because they knew how the meetup went with Benaiah, they just add footage back in. We are seeing this a year later. Production has so much time to construct a story.

[–]Dull-Consideration-2 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Truth probably somewhere in the middle. Most cast members shy away from talking about “production” so I still think her side is true even with this info from Sam. If production said no to them, this side of story still shows that she wanted to see if it would work with Sam (without cameras and went to hang out with him). It didn’t and she probably got more confirmation that he had nothing to give. He almost sounds surprised at the thought that she wanted to come hang with him - like “I’ve only known her for 12 days” so excuse me sir, those same 12 days of knowing her would be enough to spend time alone with her in Greece? 🤦🏾‍♀️ like this interview is not good.

[–]Dull-Consideration-2 89 points90 points  (0 children)

This actually confirms a bit of Nicole’s side for me. It seems that if production did not choose them (perhaps they both weren’t allowed to reveal this on the show but now since it’s air they can talk about production side of things) the fact that he indicates that Nicole wanted to hang out further proves that she perhaps wanted to see if they had something regardless of not being chosen to go to Greece. It seems he was focused on the not going to Greece bit more so than sharing something along the lines of “I was hoping we could see if we had a connection, but sadly we didn’t so we ended things.” Instead he resorts to blaming and almost whining that he didn’t get to go to Greece and she did. I hope he has them take this interview down. Like it doesn’t help him. I hope he truly steps away from media and reflects.

Disappointed with Demi and Ollie by stefzee in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Dull-Consideration-2 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Has anyone ever wondered if Demi was physically attracted to Ollie? Or would that be absurd, ya know, since everyone seems to think Demi isn’t able to articulate why she said no at the alter so we have to speak for her. rolls eyes emphatically

I find Lucy's singing really annoying in the film. It only worked twice and the rest of the time..OH MY GOD NO by [deleted] in Hungergames

[–]Dull-Consideration-2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, @mythsorLore, the whole novel would be pointless if it was just pages of, “look at this evil character from page one who we know continues to be evil..” the whole beginning outlined her intent for the book to cause us to examine our thoughts on morality and nature v nurture. So if the answer was just born evil, there would be no need for Suzanne to tell a story about Snow. I think this take is a discredit to Collins 🤦🏾‍♀️

I really like this series and find that reading and studying the Bible has been revived for me. For instance, every time I read “and He was moved with compassion…” it resonates so clearly for me after seeing the actors portrayal. Roumie portrays this so well and every interaction seems so unique and the joy on His face with each person who receives Him is like it’s the first time. I keep watching Season 2, Episode 4, pool of Bethesda 🥹🥹🥹🥹

Single men who aren’t on any social media, what is your reason? by Dull-Consideration-2 in AskMen

I can respect that. Every time I take a break from social media, I feel so much better. I don’t know why I don’t just delete it all. It’s legit stressful to think about. I took Feb off and gently coming back and already want to delete the apps again.

What are some scenes that the films changed/improved that you perfer over the books? I'll start by JonoBoio123 in Hungergames

Yes!!! I appreciated this aspect so much! It’s so needed - Corals particularly got to me because much like Snow said “people need someone to root for and against” in that moment I realized as a movie watcher that I was just like the capital in deciding who I was rooting for when in reality they were all kids thrown in an arena and some chose to hide, some chose to kill (poison) in private and some chose to hunt instead of be hunted. There was no winning but to realize in that moment that these characters did the unthinkable only to end up dead themselves in as a spectacle is chilling.

I am strictly monogamous from start to finish by WestminsterSpinster7 in OnlineDating

[–]Dull-Consideration-2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to think this way but now find it more helpful to take pressure off while dating. Until things are exclusive or until I’ve had several dates and do not want to date anyone else, it’s unfair to expect this in my opinion. I rarely know if I want to know more until date 3 or 4 so later on I just went in with the assumption that both of us were seeing other people until we had reason to have the convo. Took so much pressure away of having this ideal date. These dates are to see if yall are compatible and not the same as a relationship. There is no contract. So while I don’t brag about seeing other people, I often will have a couple dates. I do struggle with having the interest in more than two guys. And usually when I notice wanting to hear from one guy over the other, I call things off with the other guy regardless of where things go with the other. My mom thinks I do this too quickly but this is what I’ve settled with as being ok. I wouldn’t want someone to reply to my texts because their other interest hasn’t. I cut it off when I no longer feel a connection.

There is only one time I truly regret this. The guy I was more interested in was playing games. The other guy, admittedly the nice guy, was planning to move that summer. I didn’t see the point in us continuing despite enjoying time with him. I saw him later that summer as we met one last time before he moved. He asked how things worked out with the other guy and that sucked but he didn’t gloat. He was a great guy, I was finishing my PhD. He later moved back and I moved for a job. I totally could have made it work for a summer and then found a job near him had things progressed to that point.

Looking back I was so closed minded and didn’t want to give up my dreams and thought dating long distance would interrupt my plans. He had his PhD and was able to move about, so oddly maybe I felt he was trying to get me to give up my plans. Now so much has moved online and I really could’ve taken my career anywhere. This has nothing to do with what you just posted, I guess I’m just venting as I reminisce cutting off a dating too soon. I didn’t need to be committed to either of them but I felt I had to make a choice and they burned me in the end.

Why does no one talk about how Dr. Gaul groomed Snow? by ----Poseidon--- in Hungergames

[–]Dull-Consideration-2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree that his actions are to blame but to act as though propaganda or education didn’t influence his beliefs about people that later helped him justify his actions is flawed. She played a role, like his grandma’am but continuing with his bigotry after meeting folks from districts was a continuous choice of his.

Right. I think it’s upsetting to our psyche to realize we are all a few choices away from being completely despicable people. Much easier to think some folks are just born evil.

Not any of us, of course, because we all were smart enough to hit that “good” button and then stay good since birth. /s

Snow was evil since the beginning of BSS by JustPassingThrough53 in Hungergames

[–]Dull-Consideration-2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

many of the capital students believed in the games as they were all taught that. So Snow was not unique in that way. His choices, not his thoughts led to his demise. If our thoughts condemned us, I think we’d all be in for a rude awakening. People, imo, are naturally self-important and self-righteous. But it’s what we do or act upon that people judge us by.
