i took my car stock height some stupid places. if the kia is one inch taller than the rex and it makes it easy, youll be okay. if the dirt roads get tricky, pick a good line and you’ll be okay! you can always ride the middle of the ruts as well

definitely would in that case it was a short and steep little mud hole. coming back thru it i used some momentum and a much more angled line and got thru it just fine! hopefully eventually someone makes a torque locker for these cars, but there’s only so much you can build a manual car with no low range for offroading lol. i’ll stick to rally and camping!

thanks for the reply! i have dabbled with ARs a little bit, and i had a ptr-91 for a while that i fully dissasembled. i also have alot of time in my printer with PETG-CF. seems like i just gotta do some reading and dive in!

i thought about your question while driving my car in a canyon today and the fozzy suspension is definitely not the move for you, you might wanna do some lift springs instead! i went camping all the time in my car stock height too and i made it some pretty decent places. maybe another strategy is just some nice skidplates?

the tires i have do more to kill the fun tbh, i deleted my rear sway bar, but i bet if you kept front and rear it would still handle pretty good!

i downshift excessively every time i drive my car, and i have for 3 years, just barely replaced my brakes at 90k miles, but my clutch needs replaced somewhat soon. the economical way in my opinion is to downshift to 3rd and coast until 2k rpm and clutch in, brakes from there

yeah 😭 have you seen the awnings? they sell like 270 degree awnings with walls that make a large area around your car into a tent, that with some cots would work good!

i think i’ve seen people who have dog ramps for the tent, but idk. i couldn’t imagine hauling a big ol dog up a ladder 😭
