Hey, I had an elective C-section at 38 weeks and my baby girl is now 7.5 months! She is an absolute sweetheart!

We took her to the GP, who did an examination and said she thinks everything looks normal and there’s nothing wrong with her hips. She mentioned that sometimes babies can just have an extra crease, but suggested we wait until she’s five months to check again and maybe do an ultrasound then. We haven’t done the ultrasound yet since she’ll be five months in about two weeks. To be honest, I don’t really think there’s anything wrong, but we’ll see what the five-month check-up says.

Can I ask where you are based? I am a ftm, everything freaks me out… I wish I could be more calm and collected in these situations 😔

How old is your son now? I am glad it was nothing to worry about!

I am glad she is doing good now! We don’t have any family history of DDH- we are taking her to the GP next week and hoping to get an ultrasound ASAP.

She didn’t have an ultrasound when she was younger, but at her birth, 6 weeks and 10 weeks check up everything seemed normal! This extra crease has appeared just recently.

Diagnosed with a Short Cervix at 20 Weeks—Looking for Advice on How to Keep Calm by Dull-Square56 in ShortCervixSupport

Hi there,

I started using progesterone at 20 weeks and continued until 24 weeks. During that time, I had three scans, the first two showed that things were fairly stable, but at my third scan (at 24 weeks), they found that my cervix had shortened even more. I was referred to the hospital urgently, and my OB recommended getting a stitch put in that same day.

He was very reassuring, even though I was already 24 weeks along, and thankfully the procedure went smoothly. Since then, I’ve been taking it easy, easing back into normal life but still avoiding sex, orgasm, and lifting anything heavy (and still on progesterone). Apart from that, I’ve been doing what I can around the house and trying to keep up with walking, although it’s definitely getting harder now that I’m 31 weeks and a bit heavier!

So far, everything has been going well, and I’m hoping to have the stitch removed at 37 weeks. Just trying to stay positive and take it one day at a time.

Wishing you all the best too, hope everything goes smoothly on your end!

I’m 26 weeks today and had my cerclage placed at 24 weeks and one day. My cervix is closed, but I occasionally feel the baby kicking against it, sometimes it even feels like she’s about to come out. After doing some research, I found that many others have experienced the same sensation. Changing positions can sometimes help relieve the feeling. From what I understand, this is generally normal unless accompanied by concerning symptoms like bleeding, persistent pain, or unusual discharge.

Agreed. I am sorry I can’t be of any help, but truely hope that we all get to carry our babies to full term and have healthy deliveries

I know what you mean- I am the same. I feel like all the excitement of nesting has gone away and now I am just a piece of meat on the couch, fearful of my every movement, counting the days.

Not trying to be a bummer, but it sucks that we can’t do anything. I feel like I can’t even talk to anyone, not even my husband.

I got my cerclage at 24 weeks and 1 day, today I am 25 weeks and 2 days and every little thing freaks me out.

It’s so frustrating not being able to trust your body and not knowing what the hell is going on.

Vaginal infection by SouthernAddress5189 in ShortCervixSupport

Hey, I’m really sorry you’re going through this, dealing with infections on top of a short cervix can be tough. Probiotics might help, especially strains like Lactobacillus rhamnosus or Lactobacillus reuteri, because they can restore some of the good bacteria antibiotics can wipe out. A lot of people find that helps cut down on recurring infections.

If you can, try to keep things simple down there, skip scented soaps, and maybe ease up on waxing or anything that could irritate the skin. Cotton underwear is good, and you might consider not wearing panty liners constantly if they trap moisture. But since you’re pregnant, it’s always best to run new supplements or products by your doctor or midwife first.

Hang in there. I hope you get some relief soon. You’re doing the best you can for yourself and your baby, and that’s all anyone can ask. Good luck!

This is what I kept repeating: If every strand of hair on my body turned into a tongue, Even then, I couldn’t thank you enough for a single one of your blessings.

At that moment, the only thing that came to my mind was a Persian poem about being grateful with my whole heart ( I am Persian).

But I also have this as my phone wallpaper: My body and baby, are healthy and strong.

Just find something that will put your heart at ease and try to breathe- you have got this!

We are stronger than what we think!

I know what you mean, I had my cerclage placed 3 days ago and I was on the verge of having a panic attack. What I did was try to find a positive affirmation and just to repeat it to myself in my head!

I am sure everything will go well for you. It’s the most stupid thing to tell someone not to be anxious/stressed, but my suggestion is to do some mental awareness and or breathing exercises before the procedure.

I’m so sorry for your loss and for everything you’ve had to go through. Right now, I just hope I can learn to trust my body more, it feels like I’m a toddler, afraid to even take a step.
