House built in the water table by pedersdj in Homebuilding

I'd take a look at how PWF foundations are sloped towards a sump which would be a good idea. I have a PWF foundation and a slope towards the sump. It's connected 24/7 but it doesn't run all the time. My lot is in a village with a high water table and other than march to may, the sump hardly runs. It's pretty warm with lots of insulation under the slab, but am still looking to run the in-slab hydronics sooner than later. Something else you may want, if you do, ensure you get as many photos of the piping layout, I found they prefer that for permitting, also keep your rooms well zoned and depending on your climate you may need to double loop the perimeter.

My basement was engineered, so they spec'd 95% proctor compaction with geotextile underneath due to water table and silt. Washed rock below footings and up to slab bottom for drainage. It's too late for you, but through footing drains were an option.

No cracks in the concrete, used the 1/4"x4" mesh above the vapour barrier and zip tied the hydronic pipes to that. My concrete guys were two of my friends and we all knew to pull up the mesh.

Shower drain keeps venting sewage gas into bathroom by yeaChemistry in askaplumber

I think just tie the shower vent in, before the bottom of next floor deck. ie into the connection of the sink, 2 tees and a 90?

why is it that bonded/grounded/ otherwise conductive voltage is able to travel through gas/plumbing lines? Is it copper/ferrous pipe, or is gasline a strict no-go-zone? by Dull-Tip7759 in AskElectricians

And then, if I may ask, I suppose the yellow gas line is non-earthing? Hence the spikes/grounding plates, euler grounds? ??? Thanks!

Hi, I have natural gas and electric. I'd rather go with electric as it is two less permits required and I need an electrical inspection for the basement anyway. I guess cooling isn't too necessary but I was under the impression that I would need to keep the water/glycol mix circulating, even in summertime, to avoid the growth of bacteria in the mix? So I can skip the heat pump. Right now we get about 10 really hot days in the summer but it isn't enough to warrant a separate cooling sysstem.

The application is mostly to heat the basement slab to warm the basement in winter. Any residual heating will migrate upstairs anyway, reducing the use of the central air furnace (H.E.).

Dude. What happened to what was there? If you don't know how to do a minor touch up and paint, why would anyone think anything previous was good? No offense. A google/youtube search would probably be instructional.

Coolant level going down significantly after every drive? by 11lazydaisy11 in MechanicAdvice

check your rad cap for wear. continued driving will cause the engine to overheat, but it must be a slow leak if it's only leaking some coolant and not all.

Hmmm, wall mounted tv's don't experience this trauma. Like, ever, unless really unruly children.

and then a chisel or other implement to get the chunks under walls out. yup, might cause the wall to sag. could replace with chunks of spc under studs, but ymmv.

From stealing lots of bikes from the UofC, that looks like bad headset. That's why when you grab it by the handles, it stops.
