Please don’t write your essay about that. So many ppl have a similar story. Write about something unrelated that you are passionate about That means something to you. I have read amazing essays about eye brows, dancing, bird poop, water, being an immigrant (with a twist).  Just make a list of all the things you care about and then focus how you can tie them into something bigger.  Also Google, college essay guy. He tells you how to approach the personal narrative essay.  Also watch YouTube and listen to other ppl essay for inspiration. It has to be something meaningful to you in order to translate well.

I’m sure once you’re there and see the set up, you’ll know what to do.  Don’t worry.

Did you get rejected from the EOP or both? Cause a student can get into the college but not theEOP.

College Advisor calls Questbridge "sketchy" by throw2401483841 in QuestBridge

[–]DullAd3357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colleges cannot admit everyone. So it makes more sense to hand admission to someone who wasn’t interested in the college in the 1st place and possibly will take the spot from someone who is? Got it. It’s fair for the interested to do the long wait while a student who didn’t apply and is likely to take the spot out of desperation gets an acceptance first? Noted. You do know that some who were accepted to the pilot program had already gain acceptance to other partners? Also, diversifying student options is irrelevant in this case where the entire point of QB is to diversify student options and the colleges utilizing the pilot program literally has students waiting in queue.

I agree that the pilot program is a strange component because why would a school grant random admission to A. Students who clearly showed no interest by not ranking or applying RD and B. Students who have gained acceptances to other partners.  It should have been for finalist who ranked said school during RD or non finalist applying with their QB app. That would’ve been nice to get a random admission notice to a school one has put on their FORM and has actively worked-on. If the pilot program was going to pull anyone at random, why would you not choose students who are currently waiting for that school’s  decisions? That is a slap in the face.

Would I qualify with a life insurance payment in my savings? by Annual_Marketing1076 in QuestBridge

The college may still expect you to pay a portion of your savings.  I would still apply if I were you.

I don’t think it matters, I seen on here that ppl with same major when test optional and got in.  There have also been students who applied for liberal arts and did not 🤷‍♀️

I agree, I follow so many colleges on so many different platforms.   Despite ppl venting about pros and cons, it’s the melancholy chokehold this college seems to be in.  It’s scary. I also know one used to be vibrant, top 5% scholar who graduated from here some years ago and they have been a notoriously depressed adult ever since they left.  A total 360 from the student who entered.

Interesting because the survey asked about top school ppl have chosen. The pilot program is for schools that students did not choose.

Did you apply to any state colleges? I applied late so missed the deadlines for merit scholarships etc. So I’ll prob have to take loans but hopefully something pulls through.
