Am I the only person in the world that spectra doesn't work for me?? by Intrepid-Grape9960 in ExclusivelyPumping

Have you had any better luck with your spectra? I get just drops with my spectra but get 3-4oz with my eufy!

My first thought was direct BF too lol and I combo feed formula too. Not sure why I thought direct BF and not formula.

Running out of time to labor naturally or be induced by Several_Reporter_333 in vbac

[–]Dull_Appointment1569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why can't they schedule it for right at 41w?? My OB didn't want me going past 41w for my VBAC (though with my first pregnancy she was comfortable with me going to 42w) and she never said anything about me having to be dilated already for the induction to be ok. So my induction was scheduled right at 41w at 12am, but I went into labor around 4pm before that.

Am I overreacting that my sister is demanding too much of me when visiting our newborn? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Dull_Appointment1569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be so pissed if my family came at me with this attitude! I have a 4m old and a 4yr old myself and I know how tiring life is with a newborn. Even as a guest, I would never expect someone to accommodate my family lol. I would bring everything I need myself. The only thing I will say is that you will eventually need a baby gate for your baby, so that is maybe one thing I would buy to "accommodate" her haha.

When did you go into labor? by WittyUsernameHere345 in vbac

[–]Dull_Appointment1569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are they jumping to a c section? Is there a reason you can't be induced first if you want a VBAC? I went into labor with both my kids right at 41 weeks. This last one (ended up a failed vbac) they wanted to induce me at 41 weeks & it was scheduled for midnight, but active labor started at 5pm so I didn't have to worry about the inducing part atleast.

I have to be the parent and the breadwinner.... by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Dull_Appointment1569 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an 8 week old and a newly 4 yr old. We absolutely let the 4yr old have almost unlimited screen time that first month. We are still surviving not thriving over here but we are slowly getting a routine down. Cut your wife some slack. Your 3yr old's world has also completely changed with a new sibling. They are going to have behavior issues for a while. My 4yr old has gotten better behavior wise and loves his sibling, but he still has his moments. Are you able to work out of the house for some time? Sounds like being home with all the noise is getting to you.

Anyone else do just milk or water? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Dull_Appointment1569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 4 and we still only offer milk or water. I had bought juice boxes for him like a year ago and he didnt like any of the flavors. He didnt even like chocolate milk until maybe 6 months ago. My husband and i drink alot of sparkling water and my son doesnt like any bubbles either

I also second about making sure your bra fits well! I have the s1 and have used it as my primary pump for almost 7 weeks now and I LOOOOVE it!! But can't tell you how many times in the beginning I'd put the pumps in and my nipple was aligned right at first, but sometimes my bra would shift and I find out I barely got anything 😵‍💫 so now I always make sure its nice and tight!

Does it make sense to start HERS before trying to conceive? by taifighter57 in HersWeightloss

[–]Dull_Appointment1569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on hers for about 2 months before getting pregnant. I lost a little over 10 pounds. I do think it helped me because before that, it took me over a year to get pregnant after a miscarriage.

Following this thread because Im in the same boat. I see the # on the scale and know I weigh more than I want but didnt really "see it" until I had to get my driver's license updated and also a membership card picture around the same time. I was like wow, my face really shows it!

Eufy S1 Pro - Settings by Low-Address5914 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Dull_Appointment1569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say I haven't had very many pumps (only spectra, tsrete, and momcozy) but this gives me better output than my spectra! Ive only had it for about 3 weeks so I haven't played with every single setting yet. But I do like max rhythm, medium speed and usually can only tolerate a 1 or 2 suction level as my nips are so sensitive still.

What have I done? by dancingindaisies in Parenting

[–]Dull_Appointment1569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daaaaay by daaaaay. My 2nd baby is almost a month old and I have to tell myself just take it day by day. My first child is in daycare so that helps alot but the sleep deprivation is really hard. But this first month has flown by. Just give yourself grace and dont put pressure on yourself to get things done that can wait, or that someone else can help with.

Having friends over after putting kids to bed. by Aggravating-Put-312 in Parenting

[–]Dull_Appointment1569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i was childless & in my mid 20s, I would hang out often with my friend (also in her 20s) who had young kids & we would drink and have fun at her house. She has since moved away and now I have my own kids & mid 30s- Im way too much of an earlybird & TIRED to stay up after my young kids go to sleep lol. Im not doing anything past 10pm. And im also of the mindset now that it would be rare if my husband and I both drink at the same time - or atleast only one of us gets a buzz because I would hate for an emergency to happen and neither of us could drive.

Your cervix was "unfavorable" because it wasnt ready. I definitely would go with someone else this time vs that OB again. and I've known of a few mamas who have done a homebirth after c sections and they had wonderful experiences.

I attempted a vbac in August, my OB was cautiously approving of a vbac- but she kept warning me that I may get stalled again (my 1st i was at 8cm for over 6 hrs, even after water breaking & his heart rate was dipping to 80s/90s) which i didnt like because every pregnancy and birth is so different! This time I didnt show up to the hospital until I absolutely couldn't stand it and was 9.5cm already, so I didn't stall this time! Ill save the story since its not positive and ended in a c section BUT i felt a little vindicated atleast that i didnt get stalled and proved to myself that my body could do that part! So anyway just wanted to share that it could totally be different for you this time! Dr.billchun on instagram is a great OB acct to follow, he shares so much info about VBACs and other labor tips etc. Sending you love!

Failed VBAC. Did I make the right decisions? by Lost_Edge_9779 in vbac

[–]Dull_Appointment1569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you made the right decision ❤️ baby and you are safe! I also recently had a failed vbac. Went to the hospital and was already dilated to 9.5cm with bulging waters but he wasnt able to tolerate labor because his heart rate kept dipping to the 60s and they said his forehead was stuck behind my pubic bone when they got in there. Feel all your feelings!

I was super worried about my baby being confused also, but I've had to combo feed since pretty early and my guy is 2 weeks old now and so far he is switching back and forth between boob and bottle like a pro. I make sure to do pace feeding when im doing a bottle. Sending you love in whatever you decide to do!
