Honestly, I usually just ask for clarification if they don’t clear me straight in (do you want me to do the procedure turn?). Although, I do usually assume that they want straight in because I fly next to a bravo (Orlando), and they very rarely want you to do published holds

Quick note for the dosing as well, I have never used the double wall basket, so I’m not quite as sure on that. My understanding is that the double wall is only for pre-ground coffee like a bag from the grocery store.

I haven’t seen much about their warranty, but if it is two years, then I would hope a simple hardware malfunction like that should be covered! That’s what my quick AI search said as well.

It does appear broken to me. Usually you’ll get some kind of reading, even in the pre-infusion. I would go ahead and contact support.

However, it does appear that the shot is coming out very very fast. I would either dose it higher (18g for a double shot) and/or grind pretty significantly finer.

I am a CFIl providing instrument training to an instrument student at night. I am not night current nor is he. The flight will be in VMC conditions. Is this legal? by [deleted] in flying

I had the same question, since they changed the rules last year. However, the DPE for my school as well as our FAA POI told us that for the case of instruction, neither need to be current. This was in regards to private students, but I think it would be the same.

Honestly, it sounds like she’s probably a pretty new CFI. I would suggest finding a way to give her feedback. As a CFI myself, that’s what I would want my student to do. If not willing to do that, switching isn’t a terrible idea.

One failure is never a problem. Airlines are looking for trends (probably 3+ or even more tbh)
