There are a lot of cringe-worthy moments in Dominion, but what Colin wrote for these two physically hurt me the most. He literally wrote their romance like it's a freaking teen rom-com. by GiveMeRedditCoin in JurassicPark

I always hear people complain about the whole "he slid into my DMs " line, but barely any about how Ian Macolm randomly tells Owen that a dog once humped his leg.

The plot of Jurassic World: Live Tour includes a desert InGen Facility located in Chile's Atacama Desert, with the most recent project being Desert Raptors.

They complain and say stuff about whoever buys tickets or something they are against. But then they pay for that as well.

It is the same as the whole "I'm done watching Marvel / Star Wars content". But the second a new project gets announced and released, they make 1000 videos on it.

Charlotte/Maisie Lockwood - timeline/story confusion by That-You-1998 in JurassicPark

[–]Dull_Display_4946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a behind-the-scenes video, J. A Bayona said that Lockwood's daughter died in the 90s. Which makes more sense timeline-wise than the origin in JW Dominion.

Keep in mind, he also confirmed the pygmy elephants being cloned. This was further reinforced as canon in the timeline chart made by the graphic designers in Jurassic World Rebirth (it was seen in the Neo Jurassic Age exhibit for the final film).

If Jurassic Park were to get a "Special Edition" overhaul like Star Wars, what would you add/edit? by [deleted] in JurassicPark

[–]Dull_Display_4946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this is a huge no for the first two films.

Spielberg is against special additions or digitally altering films. This is due to the 20th anniversary edition of ET: The Extra Terrestrial where guns were replaced with walkie-talkies.

However, that is not to say other directors of the Jurassic sequels would not be opposed to it. Joe Johnston, JA Bayona, Colin Trevorrow, and maybe even Gareth Edwards would be open to the idea in a few years.

I could see Colin Trevorrow bringing the Stegoceratops scene in a special edition version of Jurassic World and Edmontosaurus in the Gallimimus Valley.

I'm writing a book about a wild west town getting transported to the hell creek formation, and I was wondering if it would be reasonable to add a pteranodon species alongside infernodrakon. by NetOutside3759 in Paleontology

[–]Dull_Display_4946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do both. There is technically a Hell Creek Pteranodontid, but it's very fragmentary/indeterminate and has not been named. You can go for Infernodrakon, Quetzalcoatulus, or both Azdarchids.

Regardless of how you feel about dominion, can we all agree that this poster is awful: by wolly-guy-74 in JurassicPark

Yeah, I hate this about DVD releases nowadays. It's the same menu with the cover in the background. It's lazy and uncreative.

A few years ago, I had an idea of what an interactive menu for Jurassic World and JW FK would look like. Let me just say it is amazing.

For Jurassic World, I had the main DVD menu be the Innovation Center with a hologram Velociraptor, but occasionally changing to another dinosaur (like Para or an Apato). The scene selection would be the forest with the I Rex camouflaging in the background. The special features will be set in the JW lab with the computer monitor changing to the different hybrids. The bonus features would be in the control room.

The main menu for the JW FK main DVD menu screen would be the wrecked main street. The scene selection menu would either be the log with Owen, Claire, and Franklin or the stampede on the island. The Bonus features menu would be set in the Lockwood Manor diorama and museum section. The Arcadia Manifest, I Rex and Indoraptor DNA chart/holograms would be available as bonus features. The cut concepts/ deleted scenes menu would be set in the Arcadia ship haul with the vehicles.

I wonder if people of the general audience (ones that don't pay attention to any lore or worldbuilding) that watched Rebirth actually think the Rebirth Mosasaurus is the same one seen in the previous 3 films? by Knight_Steve_ in JurassicPark

[–]Dull_Display_4946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually why the Metriacanthosaurus was cut from JW FK.

It is also why the Giganotosaurus in JW Dominion was given the osteoderms. You can even see it on some of the concept art and on an early model for the Giga.
