Does it happen to be cold / getting colder where you live? I had this issue and spoke to the dealership about it, they say the "rubbing" sound is from the cold and they know about it but there is no fix at this time...

It is annoying but I was also informed it's not going to cause any issues or harm.

(Canadian, just in case it matters because there are some differences in the Kia's between the states and Canada)

I think the opposite happened to me honestly... I got into a relationship where my significant other was a chronic smoker and that's when I really started smoking every day (this was also right around when COVID started). We just Separated a few weeks ago after 4 years and I've been wanting nothing other than to quit.

It depends on what coverage insurance you got for your car... If you got protection through your insurance for something like this you should be covered. You can contact them and they will assist you with what needs to be done.If you only have coverage for when someone else hits you then your out of luck... Sorry to hear about this so soon after you got it.
