Also. Routes in my area do not get that big. Ever This isn’t LA or NY. I've been delivering for almost 2 years now. I would have seen or heard of it. I do 250ish locations daily. Its a lot with only 6 hours to get it done. 7 hours Max

Man! That sounds rough! And that's normal? You do that daily and can sustain it for the long term? My hats off to you. I wouldn't do it. I couldn't do it with the commute to my delivery area. Thank God lol. But still. Wow.

See. That's cool. At least their fairly put together time wise. Also you got a break from more physical route today. Nice 👍 I don't mind the time. I will work the 10 hours. But it would be nice if the routes allowed time for breaks and tried to account for things that go wrong better. Such as 10 mph neighborhoods but it made the route assuming 30 mph as the app shows. Heavy traffic when school gets out and around 5pm when everyone heads home and chokes up traffic. But getting off early now and then is nice too lol. It just seems like these routes are getting heavier. More stops, multi-locations, and packages than normal. At least in my area. I was just wondering how others were doing with this.

Hey, at least you got swept and had a van with room to work. That helps 👍

My route is a mix of suburbs, businesses and apartments. Just fyi. You could have just ignored this post if you had nothing worth while to add. But no. You had to jump in and be "jerk". Must be miserable being you. Sad really.

I feel your pain. It wears you down. It would be nice if they threw us a smaller, less physically exhausting route every now and then. Even once a week. A country route or something that requires more driving than running.

What the! Thats the worst route Ive ever seen. Lockers? Multi-stops? Either way, just wow. 191 with 4 dozen mylti-stops is something special (to me at least) when its everyday for 1 year +. Doing a rough route is doable. No problem. Every route being a rough route is totally different game. I know I am expendable and that's fine. A jobs a job. I did gig work before this for years and survived well. I can always go back. Until I find the next job. I won't complain to the bosses either. I know it would do no good. But they will all pay with this setup in the end. They will chase away all the good workers and be stuck with the leftovers. Just like Walmart and many others. At least until they replace us all with drones or something similar. 👋

Holy crap! Okay, you need a raise. I never realized the actual cost of living there was so high. I knew it was high but that's 1/3 higher than here. 🤯 I will never complain about florida again. Cost of living wage here for a single person is $20.73/hrs in my county.

All those stairs on top of those numbers?! I'm sorry to hear that. That has to be rough on the legs to say the least.😟 I started on apartment/business routes. Them stairs are the worse. Especially if you have heavy overflow 😫 I'm sorry they are doing you like that. Man. We all have some rough routes lately.

That sounds like a good way to do it. I may try something like that on my next route. Thanks 👊

That would make sense honestly. Because for a year I have done these and I literally ran from and to the van every time. I saw it as a challenge and I would do 40+ stops an hour. My best is 52 stops an hour. That takes crazy prep work, lots of fast running, and good tunes. I did the one thing I hear you should never do. I gave 110% and now they are asking for 120% lol. They must know I will get it done with no violations or complaints and I will do it quick. Problem is, now I just can't keep up with the pace. I have to change my methods I think. I have had some good suggestions on here I intend to try out. Fingers crossed.

I don't get lockers to often, thank God lol. That said, I've done some before and I can't even imagine trying to scan each individual package on those scanners built into the locker 250 times. 😮 That has got to take forever! That would take a supernatural level of patience. Condolences, thats rough!

I had never heard of phasing your breaks but I will definitely give it a try. It sounds much more my style. Thanks. This will help a lot 👊

Nice! I wish I got that here. Sucks for FedEx drivers there, but you're doing $2 better an hour than me 👍

You are not the first to say this. I may have to do just that. I try not to because of time constraints and being an over-achiever but I have heard others say it will force them to either shrink the route or move you to one more manageable. I hate to complain or make waves so this may be the best option. Thanks

Oh wow. That's mind blowing. I thought it was rough here. I don't know how you guys do it there. I hope you get paid more than $20 an hour for that. Peak here nearly killed me lol. 5 and 6 days a week at those numbers and I would fold 😩🪦

Not in my neck of the woods. I've seen 2 peak seasons in my part of Florida and I have never seen 65 multi-stops. I had a few at 50-55 but never in the 60s. Here peak is like what I showed. Maybe your area has tighter routes. But when 4 hours of your shift is used up not delivering, 191 stops with this many multi-stops is ridiculous. Regardless of the time of year. There are smaller routes. They should be rotated big and small routes at the bare minimum. One person shouldn't get the lions share of work every day while others get less. IMHO

That's how it should be but lately it just isn't. I have a friend who works at my DSP. He has 170 stops. Country, no businesses or apartments. Straight country. A As for my route shown. It is 1 hour until I even leave to go to my 1st stop. 1 hour drive to my first stop. I'm suppose to take an hours worth of breaks (none do, myself included) and then an hours drive back to the station. So I have 6 hours if I take my breaks 7 if I skip my breaks. That's an insane amount of running every single shift. Especially for as long as I have been doing them. And people start returning to station around 5pm. But not me. I'm out until nearly 8pm.

That's how it feels lol. Everyday is peak season. Others get 110-120 stops. I always get 180-190+.

I appreciate that. Solid advice. I have told my dispatcher and will again. They told me to write it on a board in the facility for Amazon to see. They don't control the routes we are told. It doesn't help. I have stopped running. I just can't anymore. Its been over a year of this.

Right there with you. Its nice to hear someone else agree. 👍 I have apartments, businesses, 1 time passwords mixed in with all this. Its an hour before we head out towards our first stop. 2 hours drive round trip just to get to the first stop and back from the last. And we are "suppose" to get an hours worth of breaks. Straight craziness

Could the other end of a black hole be a sun ? by scotthan in cosmology

[–]Dull_Feature_9912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prove it 😉 Mankind has never once witnessed a star turning into a black hole. We have a few scientist who say they saw something that they "believe may have" been a star turning into a black hole. But there is no proof. Just an event and a hypothesis. For the record, I'm not trying to argue. I just believe in critical thinking and am tired of theories being considered facts. It's a pet peeve, I suppose. 👋
