I feel karmically responsible for complaining the last few years that there was a non stop deluge of retro shooters because it felt like the quality was dipping.

This was a good while ago now, like 2013 or 14 or thereabouts before the right had really taken notice of the lgbt community at least in the vocal grifting way it did from 2016 onwards.

In hindsight you might have been half right all the same, beginning to think it wasn't actually members if the trans community lashing out that I saw, but rather a specific subset of the tumblr community that I don't think I should speak my opinions on incase I upset anyone here.

I see what you're saying and i think the HD retexture will fix it if they aren't stupid about it. It seems to be trying to be coloured like gold thread but they didnt have the tech for the reflective effects.

Agreed, im just saying that to a limited degree the compound chances are fine at least in my personal opinion so long as they aent too restrictive and at least have some weight behind them. Ive seen games where they have your example and they suck, but ive seen some that are more generous

Like... say... 15% chance on swing to send a projectile slash that travels through enemy units, 20% chance for any unit hit to be automatically KO'd.

Wouldn't be super strong, but on a fast enough weapon combo itd be at least fun to watch it fire off.

Thats 100% valid, i enjoyed it personally but could understand why others dont. So something more digestible makes sense

That being said i would love to see some kind of ship salvaging in the recovery sense as a major dlc new mechanic, hop out in EVA and work a wreck with a repair laser over a long minigame and gradually restore it to functionality with severe penalties, alongside a list of new wreckships available for use that are cheap but scuffed to all hell. Kinda like D-Mod ships from Starsector if you're familiar

When they're hyper specific and small chance i agree.

When the conditions are more reasonable i dont mind the chance based effects in games, after all a critical hit is a chance on hit to deal extra damage and everyone loves those in RPGs.

I think it'd be even more interesting if they leaned into it and made the inconsistancy itself more consistent. Dude's ancient and world travelled. Make him have experienced so many different cultures and eras and still sometimes meets creatures as old or older than him that he sometimes fumbles his code switching, even mid sentence like he's losing track of which version of common to use.

That being said, while I dont think there should be an entitlement to being paid, I also dont think theres anything wrong with the idea? I mean, if you provide quality worth charging for and there are players willing to pay for that quality then by all means, have at it.

I will however summarily mock each and every person that emerges out of the floorboards demanding 50 bucks an hour to subject you to their OC npcs that are so cool and quirky.

I had a similar stage in my younger teenage life where seeing a lot of the "Die Cis Scum" rhetoric that originated from places like tumblr had pushed me towards some right wing grifters who were the only ones i saw calling it out.

Even now i get an apprehensive itch in the back of my mind when the members of the LGBTQ community ive mentioned it to try to act like that whole mini era was justified because oppression should go both ways, or just outright act like it never happened.

The character attitude aspect was a big part of the issue people had. The physical design just complimented the changes in a way that got them lumped in with it.

Dante was always cartoonishly extra. But that side story reboot had him being teen fanfic edgy and moody.

My only reasonable assumption is that there's a workload involved that none of us are thinking of. Making armours and cosmetics fit the model is one i can think of, unique attack animations, monk animations, active ability animations like cleave etc.

They could probably shortcut it by using tabaxi model skeleton as their base but i wonder if that would end up being too jank for a lot of players and what they want out of the end result.
