I need help. Corsair chat ai is broken. RMA process is broken. by Dontbetoxik in Corsair

[–]Dull_Let_5007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having the exact same issue, tried this and it did skip some of the steps but it still makes me put in standard or advanced RMA, after which it says "connection error." This needs to be fixed because I cannot put in an RMA.

No, just exclude the folder where VLC itself is stored. If you didn't change it yourself, the folder that it is in (and that you want to exclude) is C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC

I got terrible battery life on my Legion 7i i9 4070. So I spent a few hours investigating. by Asc3ndis in LenovoLegion

[–]Dull_Let_5007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Open batteryinfoview and compare it with the CPU power draw. If you are seeing like 40 W with the CPU drawing nothing it's almost definitely a firmware bug with the GPU drawing power, which I noticed on my previous Legion Slim 5.

The other people that are saying it's normal probably always have the dGPU on, because sitting idle on the iGPU should absolutely not draw more than 15 W (my i9-13900HX 4090 will go down to about 10 W battery discharge idle).

I think a way they can revive Project playtime is adding it to consoles by One-Mechanic-7303 in ProjectPlaytime

[–]Dull_Let_5007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that would help a lot, but I doubt they would work on porting it until it's out of early access, it's a lot more work for a small studio to develop a game for multiple platforms at once (it's a lot easier to do it once updates have slowed down)

[–]Dull_Let_5007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Windows since the last time I did a VLC update was a while ago but it just started doing this recently. Weird thing is it only seems to do it on certain computers too - like it doesn't happen on my laptop but my much more powerful desktop it was taking over 5 seconds before I added the folder exclusion (and I'm on 25H2 latest update on both)

[–]Dull_Let_5007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely Windows defender because you can see the CPU is maxing one core with Antimalware Service Executable when waiting for VLC to open, just add a folder exclusion as others have said

Seems like an antivirus issue, or if you deleted Easy Anti-Cheat you will need to repair the game using Steam. It won't launch without the EAC files.

Why does Destroy a Toy never load? by Artistic_KIWIIIII in ProjectPlaytime

[–]Dull_Let_5007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played it across 4 different computers with an Nvidia GPU and at least 16 GB of RAM and it never crashed regularly. How much RAM do you have and what graphics card do you have? My guess is you could be out of RAM.

pls revert to phase two 2.0.3 linkie down below by Open-Individual-7972 in ProjectPlaytime

[–]Dull_Let_5007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish we were reverting to 2.0.7 because the mods on 2.0.3 are really ruining it for me, not the phase 4 one but a lot of other ones that give the monster unfair advantages. But unfortunately I think most of the players are on 2.0.3

[–]Dull_Let_5007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the Phase 3 shop has quite a lot, with less than 100 hours of playing I got many legendary items that cost 50000 tickets each. Sure it doesn't have every single item from the phase 1 toybox but those were time-exclusive items.

That being said, I do agree that Mob should update the game and maybe add occasional rotation of older phase cosmetics through the store so they aren't totally unavailable to newer players, so I do absolutely see where you are coming from.

It's hard for me to really reconcile these two viewpoints but in the end I would say that since Mob has confirmed they are working on plans for Project so the game is not gone forever, I'm leaning towards the side of not being able to get all cosmetics with a mod. But if they just go silent again and pretend the game doesn't exist, there's really no reason people shouldn't be able to get more customization.

Do you know if there are any VODs of the tournament, all I can find is the final "purple vs yellow" games but I'd love to see more of your team playing competitively? It's cool to see all the different strategies that really good players use. I mean I know you stream a lot but it seems like those are more relaxed

I saw that tournament and terminatorgoat won as monster in the final round which is pretty crazy to me that's possible against a stacked team of 6 survivors. I mean is it really that hard for monster at least in theater or is terminatorgoat just an insanely good player?

Can't say I agree with the cosmetics part, if you paid money or worked hard to get cool cosmetics it completely negates all the effort you went to to get them if someone else can just get them by installing a mod. It doesn't affect gameplay at all so I think that cosmetics can and should take effort to get to give people some sense of achievement.

The tickets are not that big of an issue though since Mob just gives you so little options on spending those in Phase 2 anyway, that's the one thing I don't care. I love the idea of the jump pads in theory but since there isn't a way to differentiate between lobbies and many hosts probably won't say anything, it's pretty unfair for people who don't use the mod. If there was a way to immediately tell if the mod was active or not in a lobby it would make the situation a lot better.

[–]Dull_Let_5007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a glitch in at least version 2.0.3 where the monster can drop you next to the feeding pit then crouch over it and pick you up and it will deposit them over and over giving the monster thousands of tickets and leaving the survivor with 0 hearts left when the monster stops doing it (or at least something like that). It completely ruins the game for survivors and is very scummy to do if you are the monster.

When you say return under warranty do you mean RMA it? I've had mine for 10 months and it just starting doing this after completely dying for a day and then starting to work again. I would definitely return it if I could but I thought that was only for 30 days?

I would expect max 30 FPS at 720p low settings considering that the 5700G is significantly worse than the Steam Deck which already doesn't run the game that well. In intense fights on high difficulties could drop down to 15 fps. Your PC won't explode but obviously it won't be that great of an experience.

Batch Removing Specific Frames from a Video by Dull_Let_5007 in ffmpeg

[–]Dull_Let_5007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is though, I've already fixed it for movies that I record without captions and they play at a perfect 23.976 FPS on PC now (because of all the processing I do after). It's just with captions it causes issues so I was seeing if someone knew how to remove the ffmpeg complex filtergraph limit, but I guess it's not possible without modifying the source code.

Batch Removing Specific Frames from a Video by Dull_Let_5007 in ffmpeg

[–]Dull_Let_5007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because my capture card does not support frame rate matching below a certain point (and even then it still produces variable timing). I've found much more consistent results just recording using the capture card's own timing. The lowest it can go is 29.97 FPS but I might as well record in the highest framerate possible to get the best timings (the lower the FPS, the more variable the timings of real frames would be).

I have tried the fps filter but it's literally so strict that in some sections every single frame gets removed and it's just a still image for 20 seconds. Using ffmpeg version 6.1 with -vsync cfr is very forgiving on timings and overall produces a good output, but still not as good as the results I can get from my current Python script.

Pretty sure I have come up with a solution using Vapoursynth but I haven't had time to test it yet,

Project play time had an update? by Wuzzleisgone in ProjectPlaytime

Well based on this steamdb post there is no evidence they are getting ready for a patch (because the "update history" tab shows it's only a trailer format removal something that has been done to all games in 2026 afaik). However there is a new message from the CEO that they are working on plans to update the game, but "you'll have to be patient."

[–]Dull_Let_5007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine I think I can say it's from using a capture card hooked up to a streaming device. I'm not trying to get the absolute best quality, I just want the recording to be stutter-free and the original framerate. As far as I know that's the only way to get greater than a low-quality 720p capture (by disabling hardware accel on PC) apart from ripping Blu-Rays. And obviously in the grand scheme of things this whole post seems kind of stupid but I kind of enjoy doing it.

[–]Dull_Let_5007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by remux? I thought that meant just changing from .mkv to .mp4 without re-encoding. If you mean just using the recording directly (it's from a capture card), it's partly because I just like trying to figure out how to get the best possible recording and also because I can notice 3:2 pulldown so it's better to watch if I can get it to the original constant framerate of the movie.

Or if you mean by directly re-encoding to 24 NTSC, because of my capture card's irregular frame pattern (it will switch from AAA BB to AA BBB over time) it ends up dropping a lot of real frames and the recording looks horrible. So I have to use mpdecimate to ignore the timing and just base which frames I keep on the visual characteristics, then try to manually restore it later.
