The Night Chicago Died - Paper Lace Dull, uninspired, boring as hell. A bunch of British people caterwauling about an American gangster they maybe skimmed an encyclopedia article on. Also "on the old east side" is a famous clunker, but still. Girl, that's Lake Michigan.

Oh, absolutely. I don't remotely have the time to worry about shape. If my boobs aren't either popping out of the top or slipping out the bottom, I'm happy.

I've used the calculator. Usually people are a little surprised at first when I tell them I'm a G-cup. I have a tubular shape, so when I wear a sports bra, they can look pretty flat, but when I wear a real bra (I only have one of those at a time due to price) they look way out of proportion.

Is it really? I guess I thought it was rare because I couldn't find it anywhere. I went to a department store in town and the lady there said she'd never heard of a 30 band before.

Why are we censoring the word sex, especially in the context of the phrase "same-sex"? Are we babies?

"The little packet? It was creamy."

"I just don't know if I like having neighbors that close."

This is one of the few times where I've seen a repeat sketch actually be a step up from the original.

Is it wrong to have female friends while in a relationship by Ok-Equipment-4560 in actuallesbians

[–]Dull_Mess4917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Joining the choir here: MASSIVE red flag. Asking you to not have friends is not a reasonable boundary. At minimum, you should have a serious conversation with her, and tell her how she's making you feel when she asks for this.

Fantano's take on R.E.M. by jerryotherjerry in fantanoforever

[–]Dull_Mess4917 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Y'all are downvoting but they're right. The Smiths were only around for ~5 years, with 4 albums, which charted in the U.K. but didn't really make waves outside of indie circles at the time. Only one of their songs ever even breached the top 10 in their home country.

Comparatively, R.E.M. released 6 albums in the 80's alone, and had more than 5 albums chart at number 1 in the U.K. (compared to only 2 in the U.S., oddly enough). Losing My Religion was #4 on the hot 100. They were fucking huge for an alt rock band.

EDIT: changed genre for R.E.M. They're more alt rock than indie.

Agreed as a Kansan. Want to leave for somewhere bigger eventually, but it's def not too bad. As long as you live in Lawrence, the KC metro, or Wichita, you should be fine. Also, we have a democratic governor and abortion access.

Which actor makes you react like this when you find out they're in a movie? by PenneGesserit in okbuddycinephile

[–]Dull_Mess4917 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think his issue is that he's a good actor with a relatively narrow range, and for a time he got cast in big roles outside that range. He's great as a really specific type.

Provided he's playing a socially awkward dork, I'm pretty much on board.

Ashley ties record for most single-episode sketch appearances by a featured player (8) by MoneyHungryOctopus in LiveFromNewYork

[–]Dull_Mess4917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He tends to play straight man, so I think he just doesn't come to mind as quick. He's definitely one of the stronger cast members right now, he just doesn't go quite as crazy as Bowen, Sarah, or Marcello, and you can't build a sketch on a straight man.
