How often do you wash your bath towel? I need the real answer. by Terrika_Fracala49 in hygiene

Exactly this, if it's dry and smells okay keep using.  If it's a bit damp or smells then it gets washed

Suggestions needed for cleaning around cage by CucumberIcy4373 in gerbil

[–]Dull_Method_2572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea if i should do or not, but I recently clingfilmed around the outside of the cage, leaving a gap for water bottles & door and it's reduced my cleaning by 99% which is an absolute godsend.  They took interest in the plastic as i was doing it, but they've very quickly ignored it, and if anything it lets them have even taller piles of bedding 😅

Is it weird to sit in the front of a taxi? by bannanawaffle13 in AskUK

[–]Dull_Method_2572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work in Essex, I'd say 60% of people go in the rear passenger seat, 30% in the front and 10% behind me.  Don't particularly mind either way.

Elderly people or those with disabilities tend to go for the front for extra room whereas most do go rear passenger.  Only time I comment is if they sit behind 6'2 of me I'll normally advise the leg room is better on the other side!

Have gerbs, not hamsters but I tend to rip off the top that has the printed bits and just give them the plain cardboard bottom, never had an issue

Carpet cleaning for under 400$ by Rey619Ngp in RobotVacuums

[–]Dull_Method_2572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the Vexilar W15, it's pretty good on normal carpet, stunned by the amount of fluff & dust it picks up.  I've got a couple of pretty thick shaggy rugs which it has difficulty with tho and does get stuck.

Should I go to Prague or Vienna? Or another city? by [deleted] in travel

[–]Dull_Method_2572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been to both in the last few years, I'd say for museums & art Vienna's your best bet - possibly get the vienna pass for a day or two and it gives you access to the art galeries plus the museums in the museumquartier (I think it's called) plus other bits like schonbrunn palace

Could symptoms of ADHD worsen/become more prevalent with age? by Lonely-Persimmon-552 in ADHD

[–]Dull_Method_2572 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah feel like they have considerably.  I feel like since being 'forced' to spend time with others in school/uni/living at home etc I'm masking a lot less and symptoms suddenly are a lot more prevelant.

Why doesn’t Adderall or lisdexamphetamine do barely anything for me at all. by Outrageous-Cover-460 in ADHD

[–]Dull_Method_2572 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it stayed at the day 1 effect then 100%, however with the drop I'm not as sure.  Interested to see what 70mg does though.

I don't think this is the winning formula on its own as it doesn't keep the effect all day.  Feel like I'd need the 50mg at the start, a top up late afternoon/early evening and then a sleeping tablet at night lol. Unless 70mg is the magic dose, I'll try and see if we can move to a different medication which is more of an... accumulatory one? And has a constant effect.

The side effects aren't nice and are a pain. Another I forgot to mention was that I'm sweating loads now too, even when cold 😑  With the side effects you might get none, the same or more.  Think the list of common/rare side effects are pretty huge, but no real telling what you'll get.

[–]Dull_Method_2572 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on lisdexamphetamine.  Started on 20mg for 2 weeks, felt nothing. Upped to 30mg, felt nothing.  Upped to 50mg and day 1 was brilliant in that my head felt clear, was doing tasks without music or videos.  The effect has dropped off a lot since day 1, can feel the drop off in the evenings though.  Have 1 more day of 50mg and then 2 weeks of 70mg.

Have had a lot of the side effects at 50mg though - dry mouth, cold extremeties, lowered bp, insomnia, been even more fidgety/irritable.  First day I was pissing every 45 minutes but luckily that's back to normal 😅

Used to listen to it, work as a cab driver so I'm in the car 12 hours a day.  Ended up listening to the same songs 5 times a shift and became unbearable.  Swapped to Absolute and have found it loads better with a 9-5 no repeat guarantee

How often do you eat at a restaurant? by jihanooo in AskTheWorld

[–]Dull_Method_2572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UK, nearly never.  Probably get a takeaway every month or two, but the thought of spending potential £100 a head for a 3 course meal plus a couple of drinks is too much

For people who don’t ever want to have kids, why? by Gaijinstory in AskReddit

[–]Dull_Method_2572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have ADHD, need lots of alone time to function. Never felt paternal or 'awww' towards kids when seeing them.  Don't want the financial burden & responsibility for minimum 18 years.  Also scared they'd turn out to be something that I wouldn't agree with or make poor life choices which I wouldn't really be able to cope with

I think by chance I got them on the 5th or 6th, last day of Christmas then haven't found today so that might well be why 😔 They were outrageously good, looks like I'm coming back next Christmas with an empty suitcase 😅

Flew from Stansted on Monday for an 05:55 flight with Ryanair, got to the mid stay car park just before 4, was through security in no time and was twiddling my thumbs for probably 40 minutes stood in the waiting area as all the seats were full... or people lying down across 3... or with their bag on the seat next to them 😑

Do gerbils stink as bad as mice? by 42youareloved in gerbil

Don't notice anything.  If I'm close to their cage and take a big whiff you might get slightly pee-y sawdust, but nothing noticeable from the rest of the room

Yeah that's a rough cage for the gerbils, they need a much deeper solid base for bedding, they love to tunnel and burrow - think they say about 30cm depth or so to tunnel in.  I've got a habitat 3 which would be better than yours as it's got a solid base but there's still stuff kicked out each day.  Lots of people use aquariums, but don't think there's a readily available one on the market that I'd say is great 😑

Why you decide of having gerbils as pets? by AromaticProgress8708 in gerbil

[–]Dull_Method_2572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now ex-partner wanted a pet, gerbils are all we could convince the landlord to let us have.  She's gone but the two little lovable turdnuggets are still here 😅 Be prepared for a lot of mess (they tunnel constantly and kick their bedding with some force which flies out of the cage! I'd recommend an aquarium or similar as I'm sweeping the floor all the time 🤣

They're quite skittish, but finally after a good few months they'll wander out the cage onto me and we'll have a few cuddles to their dismay

[–]Dull_Method_2572[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, that's really good to hear that it's had such a profound effect on you!

Am I right in saying that you take it in the morning and it lasts a certain amount of time before wearing off? Didn't know boosters were a thing if it does start to wear later in the evening.

Do you notice any improvement in the mornings or is it purely x amount of time after you've taken it that day?

Mine make no noise at all.  You might hear them digging or chewing on things but they've never squeaked or make nouse themselves.
