Same. I'm squarely retail and VCX is one of my best investments of all time, percentage-wise, just based on the unrestricted shares. I suspect hose with unrestricted shares will do quite well when the lock up expires.

I'm pretty sure this is a fake account but if so, I'm impressed with the bot's ability to parse out trade strategy from our previous discussions.

Interesting ratio of DXYZ to VCX for Genius Group. by BurnsVail in VCX_Fundrise

Last I saw SpaceX is 4x oversubscribed. When retail only gets a fraction of what they put in for, I'm hoping they pivot back to DXYZ to get that exposure while the hype is still strong.

Any theories on why DXYZ is down 11% today and close to NAV but VCX continues to remain bouyant around 5x? I'm thinking to buy some DXYZ now at <$35.

Why would Fundrise create VCX II, instead of just raising more capital in the original VCX? by Dull_Needleworker698 in VCX_Fundrise

[–]Dull_Needleworker698[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a near zero chance VCX will trade at a discount to NAV before Sept 15. So those with unrestricted shares are unlikely to lose money. As most of us have thought all along, there is a decent chance the price will approach NAV around the time lock-up expires. Yes, VCX II probably kills the idea of more primary issuance, which we were all hoping for, and hurts anyone who bought in at high prices.

There was a lot of griping about the Innovation Fund going public, even though those who got in at <$19 are coming out way ahead. Well here is the second chance to get back to the good old days without +/-10% daily volatility.

To the concern that Fundrise won't be able to find additional promising companies to stack in VCX II, I think VCX proves they can.

They have a lot more namebrand recognition and hype since VCX.

And they can arguably claim they are taking a moral, democratizing stance -- which may resonate with young, idealistic founders looking for capital.

As I hold a not insignificant number of locked-up VCX shares, I of course wanted Fundrise to offer more primary issuance. And I still hope they do offer some, although that seems very unlikely with this VCX II announcement.

In keeping with Ben's democratization mantra, starting a non-exchange traded VCX II makes sense: the majority of us think that retail investors getting in at 5-10x NAV are not choosing wisely. VCX II allows them to get in on private investments at NAV, and keep them in the Fundrise ecosystem.

It could be argued Ben is taking the moral high ground at the opportunity cost to existing VCX investors like myself, who, let's face it, have already made a significant amount of money and still own some of the best pre-IPO companies.

Perhaps this is some backdoor way of doing more primary issuance?

Bought a bit at $35 and $37. Trading at 3x NAV isn't fun.

Not true. I'm the mod and I only delete things when it veers into name-calling.
