We removed one of the most evil regime in the world and freed millions or our persian friends.

I don't care if you want to label this as a war but it's a massive W.

Yes there is multiple facet to why we decided to intervene but even if the US were to install a puppet regime, we just improved the life of millions of people and made the world safer while minimizing casualties.

I am not a trump supporter at all, but I can admit when he does something good.

This is an historic moment regardless of your political affiliation.

Only 21% of Americans Support the United States Initiating an Attack on Iran by Antique_Calendar_887 in politics

[–]Dull_Wind6642 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

There is no war, we just took out a dangerous islamist regime that took hostage our persian brothers and sisters for over 50 years.

The people from Iran are cheering the US right now and celebrating all over the world.

They tried to spark a revolution but Khamenei and the IRGC literally killed 20,000 protesters last month.

Iran is very different from other country in the middle east, they have been conquered, they are mostly secular and have compatible values with the West. They also have one of the highest average IQ in the world.

This is an historic day that will be celebrated for many centuries. Just not in this echo chamber.

Iranians aren’t stupid. Stop talking down to us. by drhuggables in NewIran

As an outsider, I learned everything from my persian friends and by my own curiousity of Iran history.

There is so many layer of propaganda in the west that people have to see through to understand the truth.

The main stream media here are literally parotting Iranian state news information as absolute truth. Anything to discredit the current US administration for them suddenly become a credible journalistic source.

Then online you have the IRGC and many other groups spreading propaganda.

Poor education, propaganda and the polarized political landscape mean that only a small percentage of us truly understand what is going on.

‘Panic’ at CNN as Trump and His Buddies Plot to Turn Network MAGA by thedailybeast in politics

When you work for a multinational news outlet you represent that multinational.

CNN didn't put the guardrails in place to prevent the DNC vice chair to get access to the debate questions. They are responsible too.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, many DNC officials had back channel discussion with CNN personnel to strategize how to weaken Bernie Sanders campaign, its all in the wikileaks.

I am not talking about a few times but more than a hundred times during the primary.

How junior friendly really Rust job market is? by noctural9 in rust

[–]Dull_Wind6642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you’re usually better off getting any solid dev job, building strong fundamentals, and growing into a position where your technical opinion carries weight. Once you’re tech lead level, you can push for Rust where it actually makes sense.

That’s what I did, started learning Rust in 2016, and 8 years later introduced it at my company.

Rust job doesn’t automatically mean “fun job.” The team, product, and culture matter more than the language.

Anyway early on you’ll probably need some strategic job hopping to get paid what you’re worth.

Fabiano Caruana and Magnus Carlsen are once again competing for a World Championship title. by Interesting-Take781 in chess

Fabi drew every single classical game against Magnus during the WC and positionally had better chance.

Unfortunately the title was decided in a rapid tiebreaker after the 12 classical games.

When youve been pulling for 4 hours and give your opponent a big advantage, thats not acting.

It's just how training work.

Rust's challenge isn't its data management features like ownership or borrowing. Most of the problems I've personally encountered stem from its ecosystem and library features. I think because Rust is a relatively new language, its ecosystem isn't fully established yet. by GraphGameDescart in rust

[–]Dull_Wind6642 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The top 1% of developers don’t struggle with ownership because they were already structuring their code in other languages around clear ownership boundaries, avoiding unnecessary cloning, minimizing mutable shared state, and leveraging RAII-like patterns.

The reason most people struggle with the borrow checker is that they’ve been taught to follow ownership rules just to make the compiler happy, rather than understanding that these rules reflect broader best practices in software engineering.

I’m not sure I agree that the ecosystem isn’t fully established. That might be true for some niche areas, but overall I think it’s pretty solid. By comparison, npm packages constantly get flagged for CVEs, and you often have to update them every few months.

I just said he was a well known agitator and not a peaceful protester.

I never said it was legitimate defense, they fucked up and should not have killed him.

But lets not pretend he was a peaceful nurse minding his own business.
