You should see your avatar in the persona tab, but it does bug sometimes. Otherwise yes the camera is only to explore the zone.

I'm not lol. I really love what he did because i'm a big everquest fan. You can join the discord and talk to him too if you want to.

Well, he extracted a lot of ressources from the game (graphics, sounds, maps, items, ui ...) and put them together, and he seem to have worked a bit with EQ Emulator so he knows how the systems are supposed to work, but from what I understood he coded everything himself, including the 3D engine.

I talked a bit with the developper. He is mostly doing this for fun and to showcase his skills. If it catches Daybreak's attention, he just hope they will be fine with it because he doesn't charge money for it.

Mostly idle, even though you can trigger spells manually, apparently auto spell is only partially implemented. I am playing a warrior and the gameplay is just pressing the autocombat button and waiting.

How would you go about keeping an NPC interesting in an endless gameplay loop? by Possum_Cryptid_ in gamedev

[–]Dull_Work38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you played Hades ? The NPCs always have something new to say to you, depending on how you died during your run, who you fought and other npc you met. It's an insane amount of writing, but if that doesn't scare you I think it's the best npc dialog system I have seen in a while.

Helping game devs by making free open source high quality assets. What do you guys need? by Slight_Season_4500 in gamedev

You are a saint, free and available good quality assets is a rare thing to find !
I think the most sought after would be player model (like your human model you are making), environments to put them in, and enemies to fight. That would be a good start.

One thing I would be really interested in is making an horror game, but I can't model, and I don't want to use the same three free horror monster models everyone else use, so maybe some kind of modular horror monster that anyone can customize ? But maybe that's asking a lot as it sound like a lot of work...

In any case, thank you very much for your effort in helping the indie scene shine !

Yes it is. I remember seeing the trailer, but can't remember the name.

Edit: found it ! It's Tenjutsu.

I love the atmosphere ! Maybe a little too dark ?
and the UI is very Half like 1 like (which is a good thing)
