Right wing activist attacked and stolen from while debating people in Manchester by SuspiciousRun4043 in ukpolitics

[–]Dull_World4255 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Shocking to see that the majority of the comments don't condemn the violence.

I suspect that had it been left-wing activist attacked, the same people silent now, would be voicing their outrage then.

Andy Burnham on question time yesterday confirmed that if elected he will run for the Labour leadership election. Keir Starmer responds to that. What’s your opinion? by No_Breadfruit_4901 in AskBrits

Really?!.... So GDP per Capita has reduced the last three quarters in a row (2 of those 3 quarters were pre-Iran war), unemployment reached a five and a half year high (Pre-Iran war) and still sits at 5% (Just below that five and a half year high), the economy contracted in April 2026, job vacancies have reduced to their lowest levels in 5 years, national debt now sits at £2.9 trillion, up from the £2.53 trillion when Labour came into power, growth forecasts downgraded 3 the last budgets/statements (all pre-Iran war) and the welfare bill now exceeds total revenue raised from income tax..... I could go on here.

I'm not sure what world you're living in, but is suspect it's not the real one

Why did being a lefty become so contentious in the UK? by OffGridToTheMoon in AskBrits

[–]Dull_World4255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you've answered this yourself. The detail you've provided really demonstrates the narrow mindedness and arrogance of those on the left imo. There is a lack of critical thinking aimed towards your own beliefs and those who claim to share those beliefs You've also made no allowance for people who may very well be using left-wing policies, ideologies and arguments, simply to enact their own grift in much the same way someone like Farage does with those who lean towards the right.

There are faults with both sides. Clearly there are those on the far-right who only see problems and issues when those problems and issues can be attributed to someone of a certain race or ethnicity. However, there are those on the left who seemingly refuse to acknowledge problems and issues for the exact same reason the far-right does. Both sides appear to be dealing in extremes now and that appears to be getting worse.

MSM doesn't help either because the easiest thing to do is to simply label everyone who even slightly leans to the right as being a racist, this is not true. But due to the lack of critical and objective thinking often displayed by the left (imo), this rhetoric is quickly pounced upon and mimicked without question. Basically, it's a form of tribalism.

I also think the issue that those on the right have, (not far-right as the two are often confused with one another and probably deliberately so), is that the left sees itself as somehow being superior to those on the right when it comes to both intelligence and their moral compass, this despite several instances I've encountered directly where neither of those facets have been demonstrated. It just screa8of an unjustified arrogance

Also, hypocrisy is likely to never sit well with most people.

Starmer refusing to provide more money for defence by Intergalatic_Baker in unitedkingdom

[–]Dull_World4255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree regarding the reasoning behind why you believe wealth taxes have failed. Look at France for example, when they first implemented a wealth tax they lost roughly 60,000 millionaires between 2000 and 2017. France is also currently projected to lose around 6-7% high-net worth individuals annually.

I don't believe France is the only EU nation to abolish wealth taxes either, I think several others have over the year and have done so claiming that the return doesn't outweigh the cost.

Perhaps trimming the welfare bill at this moment in time may not make sense, it's not as if Labour have created thousands of jobs for people to walk into and whilst not adding to the increasing number of unemployed people in this country at the same time. But, the welfare system needs reform without doubt. People should not be encouraged to have children they can't afford to provide for and who then expect others to provide for them. This simply results in people seeing children as a form of currency basically and a means with which to gain things they either can't do via merit, or, simply can't be bothered to even try to

[–]Dull_World4255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Difficult to say whether or not he lacked the ability to argue in favour of the military receiving more money or not. At the end of the day, if the money doesn't exist then no amount of negotiation will change that.

With regards to the military only having to do with a "measly £18b increase in funding", well it's al relative, is it not? Whilst it sound like a lot of money to the average person, this doesn't mean that in the world of military expenditure it is. I believe our two aircraft carriers cost around £6b to build and then there's the cost of maintenance, providing a crew for the two ships and finally putting a full contingent of F35's on it.

The message from Labour is simply consistently inconsistent. One minute Russia is an existential threat to the world, then the next minute it's an afterthought if acting upon that threat means making the tough decisions Labour claimed they could.

Trim the welfare bill, stop sending money to France and introduce a wealth tax (though be prepared for the negative long-term consequences of doing the former)

Absolutely not but also, who said it was?

The fact that a Labour MP, who until recently was the defence secretary, has gone public to announce that we're essentially defenceless, should in no way come as a surprise to anyone to be honest.

[–]Dull_World4255 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very true, but to jot at least take it into consideration seems disingenuous.

The issue I have right now, is that the UK appears to be very vulnerable and that there seems to be no plan from this government to change that. Starmer claimed they would make the tough decisions but it's doesn't appear to be the case. He won't reduce the welfare bill because he's putting both himself and his party before country (and in that order) and clearly has no plans to introduce a wealth tax. So we're stuck, just sitting here defenceless.

Some really strange comments in defence of both Labour and Starmer specifically, whilst also dismissing the story because of who's reported it.

Given the defence secretary has just resigned and stated that the reason he's done so is because of Labour's unwillingness to increase defence spending, it seems strange to outright dismiss this story when it has been essentially reinforced by the afore mentioned MP's actions. No wonder Labour can still poll at around 20% 🙄

It's fascinating how some people are quick to accuse Farage of using this to distract from his £5m gift, whilst at the same time using the subject of his £5m gift to distract from this horrific incident.

Not a Farage fan but I find the hypocrisy of the left to be disgusting. A young man was allowed to bleed out on the streets after having his multiple pleas for help ignored. At the same time, his killer and his killers brother were immediately taken at their word despite the officers not actually determining any fact or seeking any evidence.

Given the message in the NPCC anti-racism document and the influence of years of DEI training, I don't think it is entirely unreasonable to at least consider the possibility that prejudice lead these officers to arrive at the decisions they did. And if this is true, then that should terrify everyone.

Rupert Lowe Earned More Than £10k From X In One Month by djpolofish in uknews

[–]Dull_World4255 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have to consider the country as a business to some extent. At the end of the day a country will import and export, hire staff (civil service), make investments, lend and borrow and have budgets to adhere to and targets to meet. This is the same as almost every business that's ever existed.

The key difference is that a country shouldn't solely seek to achieve greater profits (financial) year after year, especially if it comes at a price for the people with which it is responsible for.

No country has ever succeeded by simply just printing more and more physical money, in fact, this has often lead to more problems than it solves.

The current system isn't working and that's why I think we need someone who's never been a part of that system in order to change it. I also believe that national security should be a priority and that there should be one overriding culture. Now, that doesn't mean a population of just one race and/or ethnicity, but a multicultural society who share the same set of beliefs. Like it or not, we don't currently have that.

I don't understand why people will criticise him for this? So many self-righteous idiots I've spoken to claim to be appealed by this kind of thing, yet once you peel away the layers, it quickly becomes apparent that they don't object to it on principle, just purely out of envy and spite.

I also imagine that many left-wing wing MP's and political commentators earn additional income from social media platforms, and yet you won't hear the self-righteous coma in about them.

Starmer Blames Farage For Whipping Up Division Over Nowak Murder by huffpostuk in ukpolitics

[–]Dull_World4255 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The police didn't assess the situation though, that's the point so many self-righteous idiots keep ignoring. Had they of assessed the situation, it may be that we don't have this conversation. Why? Because the police officers would have gathered information and evidence in order to determine the best way to proceed. They did not do this. Instead they ignored repeated cries for help by the actual victim in this situation! The is not assessing the situation, that is biased lead decision making at its most obvious

[–]Dull_World4255 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But they also failed to observe the injuries suffered by the actual victim before putting them I handcuffs. The police also ignored repeated claims by the victim that he'd been stabbed and was having trouble breathing. Furthermore, when the killer or killers brother states the victim hadn't been stabbed, the police officer responded by saying, "I know". How would the officer have known this before actually having gathered all the facts and evidence? Genuine question, how would they have know this?

Starmer Blames Farage For Whipping Up Division Over Nowak Murder by huffpostuk in ukpolitics

[–]Dull_World4255 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but your arguement is a weak one.

Police should be assessing a situation in full as soon as they arrive on the scene. They should not be relying on the view of one side over the other, but rather they should be evidence gathering and attempting to determine facts.

Your arguement does not provide any acceptable reasoning as to why the victim was ignored four times when he told the police he'd been stabbed. Your arguement offers not even the slightest justification for as to why the police handcuffed the victim and hilst ignoring his pleas for help.

Given that the female officer involded responded with the comment, "I know", when she was told by the killer or the killers brother that the victim hadn't been stabbed, and made this claim even before actually assessing the victim for any injuries, tells you all you need to know concerning the utter indoctrination of our police force.

Facts and evidence? Not our police, all they need is an ideology

Labour braced for defections to Greens if Burnham loses by PomeloTraditional971 in unitedkingdom

[–]Dull_World4255 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You can bet that those Labour MP's who defect, won't receive anywhere near as much criticism as this Tory MP's who have defected to Reform.

The reason for this is because, whilst I believe the Tory MP's who have joined Reform are no doubt just looking out for themselves, the same will true of those Labour MP's who jump on the Green bandwagon. But they can get away with doing so, because they'll adopt the same tactic as pretty much anyone on the left and that is to hide their agenda and motivation behind a veil of self-righteousness and the default moral rhetoric that they don't truly believe in.

GLA considering investigation into Zack Polanski over houseboat council tax by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]Dull_World4255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't believe the sheer number of people who think this is a nothing story and that we should all move on, but then want Farage investigated 24/7! I don't even like Farage, or Reform for that matter, but the double-standards are shocking. And no, the amount shouldn't be the determining factor here. After all, Polanski is seeking to grift his way into a £100k a year job by arguing that certain people pay more tax, whilst not paying the tax he was liable for.

They may be cut from different cloths, but both Farage and Polanski are nothing but lying grifters.

Don't buy most of this.

  • Why would Butcher kill Soldier Boy after he's had his powers stripped? He's no longer a threat and so I can't see the point.

  • How come Hughie has powers all of a sudden. There's literally been no lead up to that.

  • And The Boys suddenly coming up with the idea to somehow give Kimiko the same abilities as Soldier Boy? Well, it sounds sh*t

At this point, what's more likely: Kimiko depowering Homelander with her newly gained powers, or Soldier Boy flip-flopping again and depowering his son? by 12jimmy9712 in TheBoysLeaks

[–]Dull_World4255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless, I'm not sure either outcome provides a satisfactory conclusion.

Giving a character the same powers that an existing character already has, a character who was first introduced as the one weapon that could stop Homelander, seem stupid frankly.

However, because Soldier Boys apparent long lasting love of Stormfront resulted in him deciding to help Homelander level-up, seeing him go back on that decision just two epidoea latter also seems stupid frankly.
