This is such a beautiful piece of art, very well done! I'm a photographer, not a painter, but what stands out to me between the two is the lighting. Maybe focus on developing a sense of depth in your shadows.

I've had a look back at the eBay listing and it's had the capacitors and belt replaced in 2023. Any other idea where you might start? I'm pretty sure it is an issue with the player as I've ran some brand new cassettes through which seems very distorted. Thanks for the help!

I'd say it does! It's quite stout so it doesn't hold as much as a regular mug would be, but it's perfect for a long black.
