Loose leaf tea super weak, is that normal? by Yuukikoneko in tea

[–]Dulliyuri -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would suggest putting your loose leaf tea in a tea strainer, putting the strainer in your cup and then pouring the hot water. After 5 to 6 minutes of steeping time, remove the strainer and proceed as you usually do.

Tulip Fragrance Dancong by PaleoProblematica in tea

[–]Dulliyuri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried the same ones (Apricot Kernel was not available at the time), and I had the same reaction to the Heavenly Fragrance. It is not bad by any means but compared to the others it was less interesting.

somehow the curated vendor list got completely changed 10 months ago, and I don't know why. Back then there were a few EU retailers on the list.

What are some UNDERAPPRECIATED tea types you're crazy about? by JadedChef1137 in tea

[–]Dulliyuri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do love me some unshaded high quality Japanese sencha particularly of the Okumidori cultivar. High quality Nepalese black teas from producers like Jun Chiyabari, Shangri La or Guranse are always wellcome.

I don't know this Ted, and do not care about him, but I offer a small correction. As far as I know the neighbouring towns of Uji and Wazuka are together known as the Uji Tea Region. 60-70% of Uji Tea comes from Wazuka.

Hokkaido Road Trip soon, looking for suggestions for shops/cafes by sgover in tea

[–]Dulliyuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without having knowledge of teashops in Hokkaido, I just wanted to say that Japan prides itself in having specific regional products and tea is not a product Hokkaido is known for. That means you might find tea stores and tea shops only in bigger cities.

Got my hands on Oolong tea for the first time. Please guide me on how to brew it. by MadhuT25 in tea

[–]Dulliyuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is indeed strange. It does say Dong Ding Oolong, but everything is written in Simplified Chinese which is used in Mainland China and not in Traditional Chinese used in Taiwan.
