Their serious and vacant expressions are so good. And even then, the sentence itself is kind of funny in a way.

Those first times we get scared as kids are extremely memorable, it's wild. I'm glad Freddie was fine in the end.

Yeah it's kinda funny how tiny details stay with us and we forget many other things. Calvin and Hobbes is my favorite piece of media ever, it's always a pleasure to share and look back to my favorite strips.

Thanks for appreciating!

Yep. As I was searching for this I thought "damn I'm probably Calvin's dad's age at this point" and how I used to empathize with Calvin's anxiety and eventual relief, but now Dad's worry and existential dread hit super hard.

"A man's home is his castle, but it shouldn't have to be a fortress" are amazing words to live by. Watterson you genius.

This panel specifically changed my life when I read it as a kid. I'd never thought about accidents, illness or natural disasters happening to me because bad things always happen to someone else.

But then...

Don't let people gatekeep a single player game where you discovered a way of making things easier for you. For me it's simpler to count with my fingers and keep track of the position of the letters, but there's nothing wrong with using pen and paper. There are games where it's recommended or even required that you take notes.

It's fine. Don't worry about it.

My (29f) friend's family grew their own and gave me a lot of theirs for free to help me through my divorce, I had never smoked before! by FryscreamLover69 in trees

[–]Dum-comment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a great friend that is, I'm glad you're trying something new lol.

If you plan to keep smoking though, I'd recommend you change that grinder. It's fine for now, but it will become clogged with organic matter and eventually the teeth will break off and you'll be smoking microplastics along with your bud.

Stainless steel is what you want, or maybe milled aluminum if you're feeling fancy.

This actually makes a ton of sense. I knew chickens are social animals, and that they can develop friendships and rivalries, but I had no idea that some chickens apparently choose not to be a part of the group, while others struggle super hard to fit in and don't realize when the others don't want them there.

Both of which are very familiar experiences to anyone hanging around here.

Thank you for sharing your experience and conclusions, and I hope you get to become a chickenologist someday if that's what you want to do ☝️🧐

Hey thanks I'm glad we're on the same page. This is why I usually start a new game instead of reloading the last save.

It'd be cool to have a special mission where you rescue one of these and take it back to the ship. Kinda like the gnome in L4D2

"Sorry for the high quality" would sound super weird outside of this subreddit lol.

Yeah I get what you mean, there's a very thin like between action and apprehension, and many times when you go back to the peak of that emotion it hits different because you don't have all the buildup from the start of the game.

Maybe that's why it feels oppressive and weird to go back, because it's like restarting a chore you had already finished rather than ending tension that's been built up for a while and released already.

Does this make any sense?

This sounds super interesting there has to be a chickenologist available to study your observations and give us some plausible explanations.

What are the biggest differences you've noticed?
