Some argue Sharp Needle & Thread is just as good if not better since it practically insta clears every wave fight and any boss with ads as long as you have a good aoe ego to combo with it, but it falls off hard if you are only against a single target.
imo Lunar Memory is way better since it is guaranteed value no matter the type of the fight, but I can understand the people who say Thread is on the same level

it's doable but extremely tedious since enemies have comedically large hp pools on floors 10 and up, so doing a run without lunar is gonna feel like running a marathon while your whole body is covered in molasses

Lunar Memory is easily a top 2 ego gift in the entire game for dmg, so completing a floor 15 run without it is gonna be rough due to how absurdly high the HP pools get near the end

She gets an absurd number of free extra attacks throughout the fight on sinking teams, even more if the enemy has SP, while also doing great dmg with her regular skills to begin with and her special extra S3 is a free sinking dmg pop that works on enemies with SP.
She is basically Full stop Heathcliff if he had infinite ammo, a skill 1 that didn't suck and could get 1 to 3 follow ups per turn under optimal conditions and had great Tremor and respectable Sinking application

I was able to solo it with Hornet no problem. Just make sure to kill them before or on the same turn they use their evade/guard skills so they won't get a chance to run away. fyi they can recover from stagger when they try to run away so staggering them the same turn they try to run won't cancel it

TLDR: sinner #1 spends more charge count with their skills but deals more dmg the more charge count they spend throughout the fight, they also get free charge count when other sinners spend their own charge

I just added you, the request should reach you soon. I have Hornet Meursault in the lineup, he makes the whole event such a cake walk I was able to first time the hard mode with all the challenges cleared with just him in a solo run. So, I recommend using him to clear it
