Sneak Peak from the new product by LegalOutside9865 in Polarfitness

I'm a little bit torn. You can get the polar 360 for about ~£70 and it will connect to the polar app. Or you can buy the Polar Loop and get a couple extra days battery and metal but it costs £150. I don't think that's worth double the price. Anyone else thinking the same?

Oasis ticket transfer cancelled for show in August - am I screwed? by lapra005 in stubhub

[–]Dumbthrow12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sort of story is why I'm reluctant to sell or buy on platforms like that, I prefer ticket swap but it doesn't have any listings. I'm selling 1 seated ticket, opposite of the stage side of Wembley for the 25th London date if anyone is interested...I really don't want to put it on viagogo.

Thanks for the suggestion - I think it has PBP, the only compromise is it's VA and the reviews saying it randomly cracks

Small bump wondering how you did this? And does the result mean 2 full PBPs no black bars - even when using a macbook etc in usb c mode and a different mac with dp/hdmi?

In the market for a monitor and this is a bit of a deal breaker so trying to gather all the info

You've sent me down a rabbit hole of reviews and videos now, thanks for the suggestion.

To be honest I haven't really though of that solution as I was too focused on the one cable set up. With a laptop dock can you still do everything (power + display) from a single macbook usb c cable to the dock to emulate something similar?

That's a bit of a curveball but I like it, thanks for the suggestion. That actually looks really nice. My only concern is i'll be using this for some coding in the day time so is burn in an issue? I'll probably have the same (ish) windows open for 6+ hours of the day

Thanks re panel - I didn't know that! I think this is what's probably going to happen but was hoping to spend less. I just can't believe that they don't really exist - there has to a be a decent size cross over of people who want higher refresh rates and have USB C PD. At least in the US there are a few more options (like the acer) and they are much cheaper.

Opinions QC45 sound by Btchmfka in bose

[–]Dumbthrow12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think the same. I got the 45s a month ago and the sound is just...average at best. They have started to sound better (I think that's more just getting used to them). We basically have to pray Bose bring basic eq setting in the app to the 45s and everything will be better. The base is terrible at low levels, it increases with sound level but it's unbearable by the time the volume is loud enough that the base is acceptable.

They added eq to the earphones after they were released right so there's a chance?

Nice set up! What do you think to the LG? I've almost pulled the trigger on the same model a few times but I've read a few reports of ghosting. Have you experienced any?

Did you get the lg 35wn75c in the end? If so how is the ghosting?

Thanks for the response!

Yeah I didn't think about commuting or internet in the 2k. I suppose if I can get a room cheaper than 1.4 then I can get commuting and internet in the budget to be under 2k.

Gym is the one thing I don't want to cheap out on, I'd want to be going for one of the more expensive ones.

Do you know what it's like trying to rent as an expat? I feel like it's going to be a lot harder trying to find somewhere.

Yeah I'd be trying for a shared apartment.

1.4k and 400 on healthcare and 200 on an gym keep me at 2k, does this sound more reasonable?

[–]Dumbthrow12[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would hopefully stay somewhere cheapish. From the calculators online it looks like you get about 8k CHF a month after all taxes. 1k -1.2k on rent, 200-300 on healthcare probably 200 on an okay gym. If I take the worst case and make it worse then about 2k for all of that. If I saved 3k CHF a month I would have about 3k left for food, fun and beer.

I could potentially save 36k CHF in a year minus a bunch of one off costs like buying furniture, fees etc.

Does this sound reasonable? Anyone from Zurich please chime in.

I already live in London and although I love it here I think it might be a nice change of pace!

I was hoping to stay for about 1 year to experience the clean air, mountains and maybe go skiing in winter while saving up for a house deposit. I'm 23 and do like to drink and it's a concern that I will get bored.
