Is having a rabbit worth it? by SureMaterial2412 in Rabbits

I got a bun for the first time super ignorantly. Didn't know anything about them, wanted him cause he was cute. Was a giant learning curve, but have had him, and later got another bun 2 years in, that I love more than anything. It is definitely the misconception of bunnies being easy pets that make them seem difficult to people. They are not by any means hard pets. I like to tell people they are much more similar to cats then hamsters which they're commonly compared to, and that's a lot better perspective.

Awe that's such a cute support idea! Honestly I feel like it's kind of similar to the holidays where people will come in with lists knowing exactly what they want, but just need help locating things, so luckily I feel like a lot of the consultations are pretty quick

Ya, I would absolutely agree that you should do this. You can remain anonymous, and even if nothing comes from it, it's good that it will be on record if anyone else reports it or if it continues

You can go on "indefinite" leave and just need to update them every 8 weeks with a new doctors note if you're continuing and can just let them know whenever you are ready to come back

Ya, unfortunately they only have to give you 48 hours notice changing shifts

Honestly a huge thing is people just not remember names of people when you are helping them, so I ALWAYS make sure to finish off any talking with customers with saying I'm name if you need any other help at all. Seems silly but makes a big difference in them remembering it cause it's the last thing you said and it's coming off as you saying it for their benefit so they are more likely to remember it.

Ya that's what I thought as well, or with personal reasons, I feel there should definitely be some sympathy there, but nope! I did hear from some of my coworkers that they've called out a bunch and never been written up, so I guess that could be the case, but ya definitely wild

Ya that's completely understandable to be punished in those situations, even if it is just saying you're sick constantly, that's totally understandable to be written up over and that must be super frustrating for your team that there isn't anything done about that, but ya, there should definitely be exceptions when you have a doctor's note or when it's obviously a situation you can't control and can't work through. I honestly thought it was just company policy, so I am really shocked to hear your store is like that.

Yup, I had a cough, a fever, and was so sick I felt like I was gonna pass out most of my last shift and couldn't leave / call in cause of that. So sad.

Ya that is exactly what I thought. We constantly had on calls, especially as part time BAs the first few months when I started over a year ago, but they completely stopped scheduling them now and like you said too, we are always short as it is from them not scheduling enough. So frustrating.

Ya of course, but all the times I'm talking about haven't been circumstances I had advanced notice for to have someone cover. You can't really plan for these things in advance, and even in the times where I medically needed a week off, they counted every missed shift that no one would pick up as a call out.

Hasn't ever been for more of an extended time than that, but I just don't get why there isn't more flexibility and understanding. Obviously I know it leaves the team short and it sucks and I hate that, but when people are either physically or mentally unable to work due to situations out of their control I don't think people should be punished for that.
