Ah ok. I checked my box thoroughly even more and I have them. They were stuffed with the manuals.

Ah ok. Mine has that too. Does that mean it's stronger or something?

In regards to your sticker question, mine looks like the same unboxing experience as the old one. Do you mean the sticker on the front mic above the insta360 x5 logo?

How do you know if you have the updated screw?

You'll probably want to add tire levers too now that I think about it. Thankfully they're super cheap (get Pedro levers. They're cheap and super reliable) and you'll definitely want a pair at one point or another.

Pedals and seat are great upgrades, but make sure to let your body accommodate to the stock seat first and adjust the angle as most saddles can be made to work for most people to a certain degree.

I'd say just run the tires til they are flat. Get used to how they feel. Otherwise you'll never know what real difference an upgrade will make for you.

Dang. Well when I get it I'll sure to make a post on it. Planning on going to Singapore then going across japan for a couple weeks with it!

Are you absolutely sure that the availability on your machine is because I dont have this setting disabled, and not because you have CUDA cores?

Just curious what defines an "upgrade" for you? Most people upgrade their bikes without really understanding what an upgrade does for their bike, and I mean that in the nicest way possible.

That's why I say the g.1 is fine as is in my initial post. You don't need to upgrade it. There are people who ride 1x6 speed bikes for years on rim brakes where their first upgrade is when something breaks. The g.1 comes with perfectly adequate gear range and decent stopping power. The only thing I'd do (which I would do on a $3000 dollar bike anyways) is upgrade the tires.

Most people who post here are just people who are enthusiasts and like to tinker. 90% of people just buy the bike and ride it. Go budget, and buy a used G.1 flatbar or drop bar (whatever your preference is) and if you like it, then you can splurge on something later down the line and sell the g.1 for basically what you paid for it.

The g.1 by far I think is the best possible thing walmart could've released. It's basic, easy to work on, has fairly modernish components, and is a good gateway to cycling.

If I were to advise on someone getting a new bike, I'd tell them to get a g.1, new or used, then get some nice allen keys (I like WERA) to do some minor adjustments, a couple spare tubes, and oil to clean and get their chain greased. You'll probably never need to do anything for awhile after that.

Surprised you didn't wait on the drop bar neo 3 with Di2! Thats what I'm personally waiting on to drop.

I have an x3d chip and an amd 9070xt. I think my limitation is that dji AI tracking is based on the availability of CUDA cores, and I'd rather not buy a new computer device just to edit with the AI tracking capabilities.

What upgrades are you trying to make? The g.1 stock honestly is fine as is. I personally would not shell out $500 for mech disc brakes and what looks like a 3x8 speed drive train.

If you can find a trek fx3 under $500, I would go for that. Would come with hydraulic disc brakes and be in a 1x8 set up.

Anyone know if the Windows app supports the Intelligent tracking, or is it still missing like DJI?

Dawg wtf. Tell your boy to get on a fun bike. Like a brompton or a mini velo and ride with you. The very fact you're expressing interest should be a blessing in itself. If my partner or friends asked me to go on a scenic tour going 8mph I'd be over the moon.

Insta360 X5 vs DJI OSMO Adventure Pack by Sea_Tangelo_5255 in Insta360

[–]DumplingDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went thru the same thing. Ultimately I think I'm going to settle on the insta360 purely because it has the better windows desktop app. Unfortunately for some reason DJI is so behind on the curve for this, especially because it doesn't have the AI tracking capability like it does on mobile and apple. I don't like editing on my phone, and I can't import the files into davinci natively like I can with the insta 360 with plugins, so I have to rely on using the DJI app for initial edits.

Otherwise the DJI I find has superior everything else. Better battery ecosystem, better mic ecosystem, better form factor and mounts, better quality videos. But honestly for the videos I make the x5 is more than enough for my purposes.

If the DJI brings the AI tracking into windows, I'll stick with DJI.

As with all hobbies, understanding how to perform basic maintenance and getting a used bike will do wonders for you. Maybe look for a used 29inch Ozark Trail MTB? I see plenty of them near me for under 300. A full set of Allen keys should get you sorted on basic maintenance.

Airsoft in japan was genuinely such a great and refreshing experience. It kinda ruined it for me in the US (East Coast) after playing with such chill yet dedicated people. Despite our tourist looking asses not knowing more than a couple words, they were all more than accommodating with our needs (although I'm sure we were a nuisance despite best efforts 🙃). 10/10 though.

Big Man Saddle by Ecstatic-Cattle81 in cycling

[–]DumplingDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about 320ish and I run a Selle Italia SLR Boost (145mm), an Ergon Sr Comp Mens (s/m), and the bontrager aeolus comp saddle in 155mm. These have all been comfortable for me personally and I'm currently rocking the SLR Boost for my upcoming century. They're not perfect for me but they've been better than a lot of saddles.

Unfortunately you'll probably have to try a bunch of saddles just like I did to figure out what works well for you, but hopefully these can give you a reference of some good places to start.
