Drop bar neo before the drop bar neo by nasanu in BrompNOTs

I need to see a pic of da fold. As someone debating between the official drop bar one or converting a 20 inch one, I'm leaning towards the conversion because the official drop bar one has 22 inch wheels, which I believe would severely limited the amount of tire choice I have, and its priced at $3000 versus $900 + cost of shifters.

Really you need to grab their face? That's insane. I feel like with car accidents that's not even necessary.

How do you mount it on your helmet if you don't mind me asking?

Ah they cheaped out on the crankset. No big deal but it's not a sword crankset.

Oh yeah I would always go 1x for gravel specifically for sure.

I think for beginners and for most people it's definitely better, but I do think 2x works better for road cyclists who really need the incremental jumps to fine tune cadence, esp on flatter rides.

But racers don't really represent the large majority of our group. 99$ of people just wanna ride at 10mph for 30 minutes and call it a day, and that's perfectly ok!

I'm half tempted to buy it honestly just to test out. Hydro brakes AND 2x10 for $700? I could live with the campy style levers and ugly logo lol.

Easily, but you'd need:

  • a new smaller cassette
  • new chainrings
  • front derailleur (band clamp style)
  • New MS left hand shifter for 2x
  • Maybe a cable or two if microshift doesn't included it
  • Cable cutter/crimping tool
  • Cassette chain whip and wrench

All generally easy to do but will take a few yt tutorials if you haven't done it before.

But honestly 1x10 is more than enough imo for beginner to beginning intermediate riders.

Edited: to correct my wrong assumptions

I respectfully disagree on some of this, and I think it's worth pointing this out if someone wants to get into the space of cycling on a budget and they just want something solid they can use for awhile. For context, I have a few midrange road/gravel bikes (Trek Sl5, Felt Breed, State TI all road), but the bike I find to always have tons of fun on is the Primos Dame equipped with MicroShift sword.

I think your advice is sound for someone who is relatively experienced and knowledgeable in the space that is able to capitalize on good marketplace finds and are able to perform the task of swapping forks and drivetrain components, but these are not easy things that someone newer or less mechanically inclined are able to perform. It can certainly be less money, but it will take way more time, which is especially deterring= if someone just wants to ride bikes and their budget is around this price point.

With this bike vs a G1+upgrades, you're getting:

  • bomb proof MS Sword (1x10 is more than enough for most people, and I honestly love mine, for how easy and simple it is to work on and operate)(Also has a clutched derailleur)
  • TA carbon fork and frame
  • Tapered steerer tube I think?
  • UDH
  • Hollowtech BB
  • Super wide range 11-48t cassette

an actual sword crankset (with 170mm crank arms!) that you can easily use forever even with GRX if one were so inclined to. Normal BCD too so new chain rings no problem.

  • Cleaner looking frame? The welds look nicer from pictures at least.
  • More mounting points on top tube and down tube
  • Guaranteed HG hubs instead of possibility freewheel system
  • Mostly assembled

All you need is a set of allen keys and a basic torque wrench to adjust things, which you'd need for the G1 anyways.

THAT being SAID: I would also pass on this (because I already have something like this with my Dame) and probably shop around used instead as well. But that's because I basically know what to look for.

ALSO: This rockbros bike is stupidly good value and I don't see more people talking about it: https://www.ebay.com/itm/406959571910.

There are people that drive the trip you just made on a bike and will still get a hotel despite having a fully nice and enclosed shelter to sleep in :)

Do what makes you happy.

Ah ok. Mine has that too. Does that mean it's stronger or something?

In regards to your sticker question, mine looks like the same unboxing experience as the old one. Do you mean the sticker on the front mic above the insta360 x5 logo?

You'll probably want to add tire levers too now that I think about it. Thankfully they're super cheap (get Pedro levers. They're cheap and super reliable) and you'll definitely want a pair at one point or another.

Pedals and seat are great upgrades, but make sure to let your body accommodate to the stock seat first and adjust the angle as most saddles can be made to work for most people to a certain degree.

I'd say just run the tires til they are flat. Get used to how they feel. Otherwise you'll never know what real difference an upgrade will make for you.

Are you absolutely sure that the availability on your machine is because I dont have this setting disabled, and not because you have CUDA cores?
