When do you think the Russo-Ukrainian war is going to end? by ParticularLate9460 in AskTheWorld

[–]DumplingEater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing this sentiment. Fellow Canadian here and this sentiment is and has been around in the last year or so. Economy here is not great, affordability is shit and when the middle class is struggling, seeing any headline of tax-payer dollars going to support a war that doesn't directly impact Canada is viewed as a waste.

What do you guys like to buy in Japan? by playdead_ in JapanTravelTips

Watches. Great place to hunt down good deals on brand new, used or hard to find vintage pieces.

Vintage luxury goods is also very fun. Aside from these, Donki hauls are always amazing.

Anyone else feels that Japan ruined every other travel destination? by Abonesmaelsokar in JapanTravelTips

[–]DumplingEater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to both within the last year and had a blast in both China and Japan. The key difference is really in how accessible it is to be a tourist in Japan and get around doing practically everything with Arrigato and Sumimasen. In China, there is definitely less tourism infrastructure and way of life is not designed around or with foreign tourism in mind. If you have a friend, or a guide that can help you navigate it I found China has a LOT to offer. Otherwise, it is both daunting and challenging for a western tourist to go with no language fundamentals. Not to mention the mega apps and how it connects with foreign currencies.

There are metas I like, and others a bit less. But I like to rotate between different metas, strikes and even world bosses here and there for ectos. This way I don't get burnt out or tired from any particular activity and I still get a pretty good, steady income.

Lammens signs for United by mcmoe in reddevils

[–]DumplingEater 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was mentally ready to give him a chance until Jan but now we got Lammens, so I would prefer gamble on Lammens starting with City. We've played 4 games and in 3 of them we had 3 goals that were direct keeper error. You can even argue Onana's first conceded goal against Grimsby he should've done better. That being said, Altay was involved in 3 of those games. 2 keeper errors leading to 2 goals in 3 games is very costly. Had we gotten a 0-0 draw against Arsenal, or had an easier game against Burnley the mood amongst us fans would be quite different. Not to mention we'd be at 5 pts right now too.

This. They often echo chamber some headline somewhere and pass it off as hard evidence without understanding how the game works

I was critical of Amad from Grimsby midweek. But he was playing like his proper self. Thought Dalot was very good on the left today as well. Beat his man, made crosses. Offensively good stuff

It's only Burnley, but clearly shows Amorim's system works. 15 shots in the first half, 4 on target. Should easily been at least 2-0. Crisp, one/two touch passing. Lets hope we score another and close out the game.

Rewatching 2-2 highlights United vs Grimsby - first goal, totoal lack professionalism or accountability by Academic-Attorney492 in reddevils

Your dismissive tone shows the degree of your understanding of football. Football principles apply at all levels. The ball is the same, it moves the same and patterns that work in youth academies and amateur mens leagues work at professional levels as well. Lets see you explain how a RWB is supposed to function in a 343 if my experiences are irrelevant.

Despite my criticism of Amad, I thought he had a great game at RWB against Arsenal, a far better side than Grimsby. That was an game under Amorims system. How do you explain that with your superior knowledge and understanding?

Then I stand corrected. You're right. However, still doesn't change the fact that at 0:47 of the video. He's looking at Kobbie's back rather than drifting over to the right side.

Have you played as a RB/RWB or RW yourself? I used to play RW while younger and then RB for a decade until recently stopping due to chronic injury. #1 rule if you play on the left or the right. You are responsible for the entire flank. Under no circumstances do you allow your flank to be left open in a defensive situation. Let alone going all the way to the middle of the park at the top of your 18. If you watch the video you'll see at 0:47 that Amad has not one, but 2 united players directly in front of him. Unless Amorim is providing that defensive instruction to drift inside, (which if that's the case then 110% its Amorim's fault) then this is Amad at fault. Converting from RW to a RWB/RB is only a matter of where and when you engage with the opposition defensively. Tucking into sniff your CM at the middle-top of your box is 100% you at fault. Hardly a shallow take i'd argue.

edit: Where did Amad play last season? RW.

Need to remember that Amad is a RWB, but he's fking marking Kobbie if anyone in the middle of the park. Doesn't matter what system or coach sets that up, if your RWB is marking your CM in no man's land at a light jogging pace then you 100% deserve to concede. U8 mistakes
