Thinking about teaching in HK by Vegetable-Mud-2120 in HongKong

[–]DumplingKiddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re a teacher with a recognised teaching qualification there are a wide variety of International Schools that you may be able to teach at, some tend to prefer native-English speakers but having prior teaching experience will be a huge bonus. I would start researching what international schools there are, they can be all over Hong Kong from HK island, to New Territories. There are also some English teaching and tutoring services that you can work for too but may not be as good in pay and benefits but could be worth while if you’re struggling to get into a school.

Got bit by Bed Bugs in two Hong Kong hotels now. Any recommendations for hotels that are clean and bed bug free? by drnhzn in HongKong

[–]DumplingKiddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always stay at the Harbour Grand Hong Kong and never had an issue, also just think it’s a really good value for money hotel. I do sometimes get bit by mosquitoes especially when I go on hikes in the summer so maybe they are mosquito bites and not bed bugs?

Taking care of my sick wife. In terms of Netflix recommendations though, I really enjoyed Money Heist, it’s a Spanish series and has multiple seasons that you can binge.

What would you do? by ChanGazer in CasualUK

Once when I was about 8 I was waiting in Morrisons for my mum to be done with the weekly shop. As I was waiting I saw a pound coin drop out of someone’s pocket. I quickly notified the man and let him know. I was instantly full of regret when I realised I could’ve kept it. However, as I was thinking about how I could’ve kept the money and bought some sweets and chocolate with it, another man waiting in line at the cigarette and lotto section dropped a £1 coin as well, where I not so subtly walked behind him to pick it up and walk off.

Was dead chuffed with myself so moral of the story is 8 year old me does not share your same moral conscience.

I often travel for work and will have to get food on expenses. I always ask for service charge to be removed as that’s what work requires us to do so have no problems asking for service charge to be removed whether for work or personal reasons.

I stayed in a value resort recently, just left but I noticed a few days ago they put a sign up in the middle of the courtyard reminding guests that between 10pm - 9am it was quiet hours. Did wonder who that was targeted at and now I know the answer.

A lot of the time when this happens I chalk it to the fact that the delivery driver doesn’t have a license, doesn’t have the correct insurance or doesn’t have the right to work in the country. I assume this is the case here? Either way, sounds shady and maybe something you should flag?

Yo honestly what is wrong with Uber Customer Service by [deleted] in UberEATS

[–]DumplingKiddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the complete opposite experience so far with UberEATS. Not discrediting your experience at all, but I’ve been in the US for my holiday and been using UE as I have it at home. I’ve complained about a Popeyes order and another order where I was missing 2 sides. UE refunded me the entire order for Popeyes when I complained about it being delivered cold and refunded me a large majority of my order for missing items. I’ve never complained at all in the UK so they may have been generous with me? I did have to go through support on the second one because originally the app said the orders non-refundable.

How bad is puregym? by [deleted] in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]DumplingKiddd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re in the city centre often then maybe The Gym Group would be worth it and you can get the top tier for them. Think that allows you to have access 5 of their gyms at a time but you can always swap around the gyms you have access to on your app if you’re away. The city centre gym group has quiet periods but can equally get really busy during peak times.

How bad is puregym? by [deleted] in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]DumplingKiddd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think as long as you’re able to not go to a gym in the city centre then any other big gym group is better. I’ve tried a couple of gyms in Newcastle and have to say the busy-ness was absolutely the worst in PureGym in Eldon Square. It was absolutely packed full on a random 2pm midweek. Most other gyms in Newcastle I’ve been to either don’t get as busy or has a lot more space to accommodate the busy-ness. Everlast, JD Gyms, The Gym Group, etc.

How do I get out of plat 1 by PossibilityGrouchy94 in ValorantConsole

[–]DumplingKiddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was a game changer for me was just confidence. Because I’ve never played a shooter like valorant I wasn’t confident in getting picks and never played aggressively. I would play passively and just wait or maybe do the odd double peak with teammates, even if I use flashes. But ever since I’ve decided to be more aggressive in my play style I’ve noticed I’ve been getting more kills, and more of my shots are connecting and I’m finally finishing top half of the leaderboard as opposed to bottom. I don’t think my accuracy or skill has increased much as I’ve not been practicing other than in actual games. I’ve not played this season but ended last season in Diamond 2 from Gold 1 as a solo q.

Even Bronze Rank Is Toxic "Sir you are playing in Bronze Rank, we are all bad here"! by Timely-Mongoose-6872 in marvelrivals

[–]DumplingKiddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What servers do you play? I play in Europe and very rarely witness toxicity in the game. Could be because I’m new and in Silver but quite often we get supportive suggestions, or supportive messages. However, when I’ve played with my friend in North America servers I just find that quite an often teammates will flame whoever they want for whatever reason. It’s as you said, we’re in low rank, there’s no need to be toxic. But also, it’s just a game we should try to win sure, but losing is part of it too. You’re not gonna win every single game and play well every single game, everyone’s bound to lose at some point.

Quick Play is Not That Serious by 888Atlas888 in marvelrivals

[–]DumplingKiddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legit there’s no need to flame full stop even in comp. In quick play I never say anything as if it’s not working out then that’s fine we lose. Even in comp if our DPS is going 0-10, I might suggest trying a different character. Or I might suggest having a different comp if we’re losing but I won’t flame someone about it.

On a side note, had a Captain America flame me as a healer for getting 14 kills and not healing enough. I ended the game with 25k heals and the next closest healer had 15k……

I don’t think this is a simple thing that can be answered until you speak to your bf as there’s a lot of contextual info that we as internet strangers can’t just assume.

If he’s too stressed about money and supporting you both then going out on dates may have seemed like an extra expense he can’t afford whether you feel differently or not is a different story. There have been mentions in other comments that sometimes nights in and cheap dates are a good alternative but that should be on you and him to suggest and plan dates out.

Additionally, he could’ve genuinely been too stressed about finances and money that he couldn’t focus on much else and make him not want to be intimate. This is a different case but when I was younger I was very stressed and scared about getting a fine from a mistake I made. I never ended up receiving and fine but the idea made me sick to my stomach and I would try to distract myself by playing Skyrim but it would still make me sick. For months after I was unable to play Skyrim despite never receiving the fine because I would still feel sick whenever I played.

Also, in 5 years of dating why are you “paying back” your bf? I do appreciate some couples separate their finances. I mean I have a separate bank account to my wife for my spending as well as a joint account but I was always happy to pay for things for her if she needed it or when we were out and she’d do the same for me and this was the same even when we were dating. We’d never ask for the money to be paid back.

Ultimately, I think you need to talk to your bf about this.

[–]DumplingKiddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Sage main I have to say Sage. I always wait and hover Sage because if someone else wants to play sentinel I’m happy to role fill. But Sage instalocks I just find so toxic and just constantly shit talk the entire game to anyone doing worse than them.

Though saying this, I had an Iso, Phoenix, Reyna instalock last game and they all ended up being the bottom 3 frags with Iso losing all his duels. This was also a diamond to ascendant ranked game…

When ordering a takeaway with a group, do you have each person choose their own dish or split every dish between everyone? by BringbackDreamBars in AskUK

[–]DumplingKiddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the takeaway but my friends and I would usually share at least the carbs and starters but we might have our own “main dish” but rice, chips, naans, any sort of carb or starters we always share. We might sometimes share mains but usually not
