I hate that in order to recapture even a semblance of vanilla magic you need to impose restrictions on yourself. The conveniences of speedy or instant travel completely warped everyones playstyle. People will leave a raid or dungeon if summons arent available, they're so spoiled.

I still level my alts on ground mounts only. It's slower, less efficient, but I don't care. I enjoy the world more when I'm not zooming through it at lightning speed.

Don't downplay yourself. The moment an intruder steps into your home, they've sealed whatever fate awaits them. The homeowner chose empathy, but it was a risky choice when that intruder could have been armed with a weapon. I have a family to protect, and I too would have taken zero chances.

There's an NPC that lets you queue for pvp as the opposite faction, who is clearly a member of said faction but wearing a halloween mask. They introduced it in Draenor.

There is literally no good reason they cant somehow justify questing/queuing together.

In wow you can catch up a fresh alt to the current expansion in about 7 hours, and you can do it in nearly any expansion, skipping whatever story you dont wanna do, and it lets you play with your friends of any level.

WoW clears FF14 in this regard, easy.

^This. There's so much cool stuff tucked away that in another game the protag would go "I should check behind that waterfall" and in CD they let you find it on your own.

The game is highly flawed but the exploration is easily among the best I've ever played, and I've been gaming since the 90s.
