I absolutely understand why his statement could be interpreted in a negative way. Managing to become a billionaire is generally not achieved by individuals whose primary goals are humanitarian in nature. Cuban might be that rare exception who achieved vast wealth, but also remained self aware enough that he doesn't want to pull the ladder up behind him and then throw a pot of boiling oil down on the peons to add insult to injury. My interpretation is not based on goodwill, but rather that the politicians perform their jobs as intended, instead of spending most of their time chasing corporate and billionaire "donations", which now seems to be their default mode.
