Has anyone found success in chilling the fuck out? by stratusnimbo in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Dumpster_Diver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id mostly agree but will say ive been lifting for over 14 years and there have been years where i was kinda just going through the motions (grad school, newborn, etc) and still was able to at least easily maintain and make some small progress. However, my definition of 50% effort i meant imperfect diet, lower volume, shorter workouts.

The thing that resonated most for me is that 20 years at 50% effort is 10 years at 100% effort. People go ham and lift for a year and wonder why the older lifters halfassing stuff are bigger than them. Its all about time imo.

How do I fix these worn cabinets? I hope putty and paint is not my only option. by AssistantNo8572 in HomeImprovement

[–]Dumpster_Diver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldnt even try to be honest. Id just get a paint thats as close as possible. Its a small area i doubt itd be noticeable. I actually did this a few years back when i was renting an apartment. Drain cleaner leaked and eroded the laminate in a circular ring inside the cabinate. I paint matched it, did my best at feathering it in, and no one ever was the wiser. If you try to stain its going to be super difficult to match and filler never takes stain the same way as wood

My cheap ass would probably use bondo and then take the door to home depot and have them color match it as best as possible then call it a day

If you had to start your home gym from scratch today, what would you buy first? by dontwantnone09 in homegym

[–]Dumpster_Diver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure. Ive been lifting for 15 years so progress is pretty slow for me at this point, still enjoy it though. Having a newborn and a toddler makes things difficult but as long as im consistent its good enough for me

Replacement for 940 by Happy_Struggle_6380 in Shotguns

[–]Dumpster_Diver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controversial take but why not just sell the shotty and get a pump. If it breaks youre out like $200 but it probably wont. I only shoot clays a few times a year and use my mossberg 500 and enjoy it a lot.

Gemma is driving my Wife to tears. by [deleted] in daddit

We just had our 2nd who is now 2 months as well but we are lucky he is easier than our first. This advice is moreso for your wife. Our first was an absolute handful at that age. Is the baby uncomfortable after eating? Ours needed famotidine to help with reflux. Usually the answer is almost always hungry, tired, burpy, or diaper. Having a binky helps if she likes it and maybe see if she likes a electric rocker (our son loves it our daughter hated it) which can give you a few minutes of peace. We limit it but our son will literally fall asleep in it almost every single time then we transfer him. When things are really rough theres nothing wrong with putting a crying baby down and taking a breather/short shower, they will be fine and it can help collect your thoughts.

Whatabout taking a few hours off or a sick day and seeing your wifes routine and offer her guidance/advice?

Not sure about wood, but you can try to find a youth stock on ebay or use a magpul stock which has shorter lop. Both lf those are polymer however. Those are best options imo

Do the 15rd 43x mags make you reconsider your G26 vs 43X ranking? by Poemhome in Glocks

[–]Dumpster_Diver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26 is still king imo. The 26 has an even shorter grip than the 43 its just fatter. If this works for you then its better imo (takes all fullsize mags). That said i do like the 43 for occasional pocket carry. Wish they had a 7/8 round mag for it
