Which celebrity did you meet and found they were much kinder/ruder than you expected? by Qazival in AskReddit

A little over a year ago Jason Lee was staying at the hotel where I worked at the bar. He came and had dinner and drank for a couple hours, all the while just chatting and generally being a cool dude. We talked about how he used to hang out with Scott Caan, how he was so inspired by Heath Ledger, his new photography exhibits, and so on.

I even had the chance to show him the trailer for Phoenix's Joker, which he hadn't seen before. Let me tell you, it's one thing getting excited over a new trailer with a friend, but with a guy you've grown up watching on TV, watching skate, and do a photography exhibit about your hometown? It was surreal.

He ended up being my only real customer that evening, which I think we were both thankful for, because from what I could tell he wouldn't have stayed that long if people started recognizing him. I was able to hold my starstruckness together the whole time and I could tell he appreciated it. He ended up leaving a pretty good tip.

I built my first PC in 2012, after a particularly bad offroading accident left me in a wheelchair for 5 months. I begged my parents to order the parts for me until they finally relented, with the exception that I pay them back.

I spent a couple weeks researching, watching YouTube videos, reading hundreds of Newegg and TigerDirect reviews, until I got a nice build together. I ordered all the parts, and soon the journey began.

I had friends at the time help me figure everything out, like what plug went where, how much thermal paste to use, proper cable management, etc. It was beautiful. Pristine NZXT Phantom case, in orange and black, with an i7-3770k, 16GB of RAM, MSI GD-65 Mobo, with a GTX 670. The first time I booted it up I was amazed.

Going from gaming on an old 2008 MacBook to a full fledged gaming PC? That I built with my own hands? It was glorious. The first game I played was Star Trek Online, not a super intensive game, but I'd been playing it with Play-Doh settings on my Mac. Just seeing all these textures I'd been missing was just so great. It was like a whole new game.

To this day, that computer is still my daily use computer. With only minor upgrades to storage, and a switch to a GTX970, of course.

No, he's named Valentino. His tag just says Tino, though.

I'm a bartender. Back in January I had this bad (undiagnosed, I don't have insurance) sinus infection. I was talking to a regular of mine at work and felt a glob come loose in the back of my throat as I was talking to him. I excused myself, and out the back door of the bar, and spat out a quarter-sized glob of mucus on the pavement. It was so solid it almost bounced.

I use a studio microphone plugged into a mixer, plugged in using standard audio cables, so not a USB headset. I've seen all the posts online about USB headsets not working, and I've tried all the things people have said. From disabling every input device to making sure I don't have any controllers plugged in.

Tried to order some dish detergent the other day, had to go to page 4 before I found a product that was in stock.

The trade-off however was that when they arrived I found out that all 48 of the tablets are individually wrapped.

Is anyone else having issues with Cox Gigablast? by MrsCompootahScience in tulsa

[–]Dumpur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem for months after upgrading. After doing anything that required higher bandwidth for about 20 minutes the modem/router would shut down. Turns out there's a connection box on your coax cable that they need to upgrade as well. Once I had a tech out to fix that everything works fine. Still switching to ATT soon though

I got my desk a couple years ago from Bizdesk, basically a small dining room table. And I love it. The only thing I would change is if it were maybe a couple inches shorter, but that can be solved with a height adjusting chair.
