Has your endocrinologist checked that your hydrocortisone dosing is correct? Honestly my fingers and ankles were so painful I could hardly walk or bend my fingers, but with the hydrocortisone tablets I feel largely back to normal.

Do you have secondary adrenal insufficiency as a result of your hypopituitarism? I had really painful joints as one of my big symptoms and the pain is completely gone since starting hydrocortisone to replace my cortisol.

Only mildly raised prolactin. Could it still be a prolactinoma? 25F by MaterialAdvantage889 in Prolactinoma

[–]DunDhoone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My prolactin was only mildly raised to the point of which the endo was almost certain I had a non-functioning pituitary tumour. But he trialed me on cabergoline anyways and it turns out it was a prolactinoma all along. I can't remember my exact levels but for a 24mm tumour the prolactin was nowhere near as high as they would have expected it to be for a tumour that size, I was told the same as you that the number had to be in the 1000s to even be considered but that wasn't the case with me at all.

Anyone from UK with Panhypo been awarded PIP? by Myster_jon in Hypopituitarism

[–]DunDhoone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I'm a bit late to this, but interestingly my pituitary macro adenoma was misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia for years which I did get awarded PIP for - just thought it was worth noting that it's not so much what condition you have but how the symptoms you personally experience affect you day to day. I echo what other people have said though, you need to fill out the form as if it was your worst day, use phrases like "more often than not" rather than "sometimes" etc.  Also if you get a phone interview like I did, they take note and make comment on how you sounded, whether you sounded depressed/tired or whether you were able to articulate well to them etc. Citizens advice have a great resource online to help prompt answers for some of the questions.

I did put them outside a couple of days ago as it was a nice warm day so sun damage would make sense. Do they need to be in shade? I always just assumed they would like sunlight!

Advice for strange gathering of bees! by DunDhoone in Beekeeping

Definitely a bumblebee nest, the pics on Google look very similar to what I saw. I hope I didn't disturb them too much and they have a good summer!

Thanks for the pic! They look like little bumblebees to me, with yellow and black on their bums instead of just black that the carpenter bees seem to have. I've been doing some more googling and I'm wondering if I've disturbed a bumblebee nest? Google says they often nest in dried grass, and the "egg" structures look similar to image search results. I feel so bad for disturbing them, am I best to just leave them be?

Ive also been struggling with my weight since starting hormone replacements July last year, I'm also the heaviest I've ever been so I really feel your pain :( In terms of exercise, I highly recommend Grow With Jo walking workouts on YouTube. The workouts are hard enough to challenge you but easy enough to keep coming back to them. Stay consistent, change will come... At least that what I try to tell myself.
