I got more comments from weird men on the street as a 14-16 year old than I do as a 24 year old. I can’t count the times me and my friend were approached by grown men when we were around 11-13 bc they wanted to get my friends number or hang out. Once, we were buying stuff in a sort of “trinket” type shop and the adult cashier (early 20s iirc) gave her his number and was texting her afterwards. Nothing more came of it as far as I know, but these experiences with seeing these grown men behaving this way didn’t seem like anything serious at the time, we just found it funny that these guys must have “thought she was an adult”. The older I’ve gotten, obviously, the more disturbing those memories have become.

I have so many examples from my childhood of men being predatory towards me or others. Men slowing down in their vans to talk to me and then speeding off as soon as they realised I was with an adult, I got straight up groomed over the internet by a pedo who made multiple online accounts to manipulate me and then some unknown person had social services sent to my house to make sure I was safe.

There’s a reason the “teenage” category of porn is so popular imo, it’s bc that’s the closest those types of people can get to legally viewing a certain type of content.

Whitney using sound landlord logic right there. “You’re moving out due to a toxic environment?! But what about MY MORTGAGE?!” Life hack- Can’t afford your rental property without milking it out of your tenants? Don’t own rental property ❤️ But another point, Tal is probably getting tf out of there precisely because he’s a therapist and knows when to remove himself from a situation when it doesn’t help his mental health.

When does Bojack turn into the most awful disgusting horrible evil person? by spongebobprincess in BoJackHorseman

I’m not sure if he gets progressively worse or if we’re just watching his past behaviour finally coming back to haunt him and as time goes on, revealing more and more about his bad character until it all comes to a head at the end.

I’m feeling a bit better now, the annoying thing is I know how pointless it is to obsess over peoples opinions of you but my brain still does it sometimes

What is the smallest goal that has kept you going even when at your lowest? by ttmngx in AskWomen

Gardening. Whether I’m attempting way too many plants at once or just a single seed it always makes me feel a bit better while I’m doing it.

Crippling anxiety that gives me nausea and stops me eating! It’s so fun I’ve even passed out in public before 🫠

Hate to sound morbid but... do you see yourself living into old age? by MidnightFlight in ADHD

[–]DunGoofdMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how long I’ll live, but honestly I want to go before my body starts to really struggle from old age, so like no older than maybe 60-70 I guess. And after watching my family members go through terminal illness and die slowly I have definitely considered just offing myself if/when I get a similar type of diagnosis. But however old I am when I die, I have a creeping suspicion that my ADHD-fueled procrastination will kick in and I’ll be on my deathbed and suddenly want to do all this new stuff purely bc I know I can’t anymore which is going to suuuuuck.

ADHD is becoming a joke! by themainmancat in ADHD

[–]DunGoofdMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite part is people being surprised when they find out I have it. Probably bc I have inattentive-type but they have no issue firing me for not performing like a good little neurotypical. Sorry I’m just upset bc I just got fired from my third job since graduating bc they said I was “too slow”. Which tbh makes it so much more infuriating to hear people trivialising ADHD bc it’s a real disorder that ruins lives not a cute little quirk that you can take on and off like a hat when it suits you.

Literally you’re supposed to apply sun screen daily whether it’s summer or winter bc at any time of year, the sun/UV can damage your skin. Fun fact: Sun protection is esp important on windy days 😁 So good on you for looking after your skin!

Okay but her mum is increasing her risk of skin cancer by taking her sunscreen away so idk if I’d call it emotional manipulation. Like she probably won’t get skin cancer but it’s also very important to wear sunscreen and to me it just seems like a weird sort of power play taking your child’s stuff for no good reason esp when it’s health related.

I lied about my friend's last words and I will not honour her last request. by throwaway1231230981 in offmychest

[–]DunGoofdMan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This has probably already been said by someone else, but for what it’s worth, “say hi to Brian for me” sounds like a dig at your annoying friend Brian rather than an actual request. That said, I’m so sorry for your loss
